We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Nice story, I got to ride in both the DC-3's and C-47s in the good old days. Some were real rough rides, non pressurized and bumpy as hell at times be we did land and walk away. Thank's for the memories.
DC-3s are the answer to hugely expensive high-speed rail. They fly at 8,000 feet faster than a HSR, don't have to worry about tracks, signals, tunnels, bridges, earthquakes, whatever.
They fly cheaply on CNG. They can land anywhere, but secondary airports will do fine to keep them out of jet airspace. AND they'll make money where the HSR line will run in the red forever.
