We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I'm jealous that you're "salmoned out". I love salmon, but even the farm raised stuff is bumping up against $10 per lb. in the supermarket. My wife and I split a $1 box of Pasta-Roni for supper tonight.
I know that catfish is not a substitute for Salmon. But you'd be surprised what they can do nowadays. America has a lot of catfish farms, but demand is low. Catfish isn't very popular. Those catfish could be turned into a pretty good imitation of Salmon, or Orange Roughy, or even Tuna. But the fishing industry is just as jealous as the meat industry. They don't want any competition. So flavored or textured catfish, which replicates a much more expensive fish, is not permitted.
