I thought it strange that Mitch went to such pains to explain his tortured conscience by writing letters, pre-recording interviews, and so forth. Why not just shut up and vote? But then I read an opinion analysis piece that Mitten's vote to convict on one count was probably more damaging when its effects were amplified over the entire voting cohort. Being the sole Republican to cross the line gave license to the Democrats who were teetering, either because of their consciences or because they face serious re-election threats at home. Some believe at least a couple of these Democrat Senators were going to cast votes to clear Trump. So Mitch, with careful planning and a 'sign' from God, was able to turn a bi-partisan 'Innocent' finding into a bi-partisan 'Guilty' one. Mitch was just being a good soldier for the cause. His cover's blown now, and he'll have to fade away.

As another commited Christian, I call "buffalo bagels" on Mr Romney's self-justification letter. If he really believed in the President's guilt, he should have outlined - in considerable detail - precisely when and how the President's conduct went over the line into "impeachable". He did not.

Stupid! Double stupid! Lots of people belong to clubs and gyms.

The towns should pay for gym USAGE, not just memberships. You know, such as reimbursement of those who regularly USE a gym and can prove it ???

Sure. Because gvt needs to be bigger. in your face, in your bedroom, in your exercise pants. In your hospital room. In your shopping cart.

I don't have a problem with the "towns" paying for gym memberships. But they should not use any tax revenues or any of the citizens money to do it. The mayor and town council should all donate their wages to the cause.

Bless your heart Mitt. I wouldn't presume to know how sincere your decision was to convict. Given the acrimonious feud you have with the President, people are going to wonder if you put self serving, personal feelings over principle; maybe you should have recused yourself. I'm sorry for the rest of us that your …."rectitude".... didn't extend to upholding due process and 3 separate coequal branches of government. Instead you subjected the rest of us to the unintended consequences of hasty, partisan, and poorly conceived precedents that undermine the Executive Branch and our Constitution.

Given the bitter nature of the Trump-Romney feud, it would be difficult for Romney to come to an honest, impartial decision.
Apparently Romney deluded himself into believing he could. Hubris, anyone? Ya gotta wonder why, when he was wrestling with his conscience, his God didn't tell him to do the honorable thing, and recuse himself.

Ever since the democratic leadership orchestrated the Obama election, it has been clear that they believe that the time has come for ownership of the White House to be handed out to alternative victim groups. So, the first step was Obama--(remember how the Democrats tampered with those voting events leading to his nomination?)
The three remaining groups of victims that should be represented in the white house are:
women
Gays
Jews
No matter how they do it--no matter how dirty they have to get-- they intend to make this happen. They hate middle Americans this much. I'll bet there are very few Democrats in Iowa who truly believe their party is not corrupt! They saw how their party thugs handled their caucus--Now THEY know.

re: Finnish city pays for gym for Seasoned Citizens. In City of Miami, over 62 crowd pays only one dollar for pool entrance, while younger folk pay three dollars. SCs pay $50 for year of gym use, while others pay $100/yr. And then there is the Silver Sneakers program included in some Medicare Advantage plans. You could say SCs in Miami have it better off than anyone else.
