We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
He and his wife have an antique shop, aka junk store. He bought a hoarder house in Canada, hoping to discover treasure in it. A strangely interesting story and a good time-waster.
Canada has wooden dumpsters.
Below is Part 1. Part 2 here. Part 3 here. Part 4 here. Part 5 here. There are many more, including segments about restoring the hoarder house into something delightful. I think a total of 16 or 18 youtubes. I watched them all over the past month. Tell me I need to get a life.
OMG. After seeing Salvage Dogs, American Pickers and now this I definitely want to put some stuff up for sale. Not that I hoard but do have things I no longer use and am sure the kids don't want it. They can fight about the guns, ammo, property and money and haul off the rest.
We purchased a house that hoarders had lived in. It only took us about a week, a large dumpster, the local junk guy and some strong helpers to empty it out. We didn't find anything much of value, but I didn't have to buy laundry detergent for over a year.
