Wikipedia informs us that Pete Buttigieg magna cum laude graduate of Harvard, with majors in history in literature. Then on to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. His ignorance- or deliberate lie- doesn't do well for the Harvard, Rhodes Scholar, or History major brands.

He inflates a partial truth, which is more dangerous than a 100% falsehood. Some founders did not understand slavery was a bad thing.

It is very typical for denizens of elite educational institutions to believe that it would have been much better for 18th C people to have 21st C prejudices and blind spots instead, because they see themselves has not having prejudices and blind spots. Liberals see everything but themselves very clearly.

Slavery was brought to the new world be Europeans long before there was a United States. When our founders wrote the declaration and the constitution slavery was already ensconced in the Americas. The founding fathers didn't create slavery AND if they had tried to eliminate slavery at that time it would have resulted in a broken constitutional convention and a failed effort to create our union. So they did what most politicians do and what most pundits think politicians should do; they compromised. They did the best that they could.

Aztec and Mayans had slaves so slavery existed in the new world well before "whites" arrived. Perhaps the natives did not know that slavery was a bad thing. Perhaps Pete knows nearly nothing about the history of the Americas?

Hey Chuck, if you believe that somehow humans evolved from a single cell organism that somehow came to life without a divine spark, you have more faith than I do. The odds of humans becoming sentient through random chance have got to be higher than the odds of our being created by God.

But I guess the difference between us is that I don't feel the need to mock you for your beliefs.

I hope nobody like you ever gets into power and decides you need to save me from my own "ignorance" by taking away my right to worship as I please. Our founding fathers tried to prevent that with the 1st Amendment. That would lead to some ugly possibilities that neither of us would want.

The problem for the left with all of the recent anti-semitic attacks
Including those from the gang of four (AOC, Tlaib, Pressley and Omar) is that they have been the wrong people. The left needs the mystic and elusive white nationalist to be the culprit and until one shows up with an AR15 then move on, nothing to see here.

I personally believe that this latest attack by a mentally ill person is in fact the direct result of the anti-Semitic rhetoric of the gang of four.

"No Sign of Trump's Replacement for Obamacare"? Why in the heck do we need to replace one massive law with another? I'd rather have Obamacare GONE and small bills to deal with individual aspects of the problem.

Which Trump has already done by allowing small businesses to band together in a group or organization and create a healthcare plan...Land o' Lakes farmers were the first to benefit from this. This mean hundreds of farmers don't have to buy an individual policy through Obamacare website. Also, Trump got rid of the insurance mandate (fine), which was hurting thousands of Americans who couldn't afford health insurance.

Linking to these types of stories that already have lies in the headline is not a good idea.

The Left cannot and, more importantly, refuses to understand Barr.

As for VDH, I'm sure he sees that about the Left, and that we of the "lumpen prolitariat, both actual and just 'regular folks' ", have come to believe that the Left HATES us and their media minions lie to us 24 hours a day, world without end, Amen.

I don't know yet if I trust Barr. I like most of what he does and says but he is "bros" with some of the nefarious actors from the FBI and DOJ. My fear is that he sees his job as fooling the public into thinking he is doing something about the attempted coup/treason while kicking the can down the road and running out the clock. In a just world, the same legal system that put Paul Manafort in jail for what will be a life sentence would put Obama, Hillary, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, and all the others (too many to list) in jail for life. I don't expect any of these perps to actually do any hard time. I think it will be an enormous failing and miscarriage of justice and they will all walk free, write books that they believe exonerate themselves and make Trump look like the problem. This will simply give the left free hand to do this to the next Republican president (or SCOTUS judge or congressman, etc.). AND the fact that the Republicans are not going after these people with any serious effort further discourages me and makes me think that indeed we are lost and America will not be great again.

Trump made big gains in his negotiations with China on trade this past year. He first showed them just how expensive tariffs are and how they cost the Chinese economy in lost trade or unprofitable trade. That is the first step in changing any behavior is to show that it is not sustainable and carries a price. You would think that the loss of readers and viewers by the MSM would get the media to understand that their own behavior is unacceptable but they seem too dense to catch on.
