Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Stores Without Cashiers" -
Wasn't that a Peter Gabriel tune...? I anticipate the first time one of them is hit by a flash mob stealing anything they want.
Great.....So now you have a portfolio of pictures of the teen criminals your local DA refuses to prosecute.
Until the DA is replaced, because he's not doing his job.

As bad as things are, reported in all the worst Progressive cities and states, it would appear that things are not yet bad enough for their populations to vote to change them. I guess they're happy with the status quo, then - unless the malcontents are just voting with their feet.
Regarding Africa's flirtation with nuclear power, is the problem really climate change-related? Or is it just the simple absence of expand-ability that limits all hydropower schemes, that is driving the African states towards nukes? If the hydropower installations are truly being starved for water due to climate change, then this would be some great hard evidence, finally. Since none is presented, I guess we'll just assume this is weather masquerading as climate change and the regions in question are in drought. From "fighting crime in San Francisco"--
“I’m a full-blown socialist,” he told me, “but I’m also for law and order.” Do these people even hear what comes out of their own mouths? Silly Mary, socialism means OTHER people have to give the poor guy stuff, not that he gets to come take OUR stuff.
Al Gore.....Does anyone still listen to him? Maybe after he sells his beach front property... Nah, not even then.
Huawei is an arm of the Chinese government and they spy on us and sabotage our economy. Why would the Hill write a puff piece supporting Huawei? Simple answer; they are part of the globalist elite and the global elite are ransacking America and becoming billionaires. As for the meme that banning Huawei will cost jobs and money why would this be true? Again simple answer; because of past decisions and actions where American and globalist companies have deserted the U.S. and given their jobs and allegiance to China. We should run from China and run from any company doing business in China. We should ask all Chinese citizen living here to leave and stop allowing them to attend our colleges. They are a den of spies and provocateurs.
Study Shows Men Prefer Looks, Women Prefer ‘Social Status’
Thank you, Captain Obvious! Also, for women, Size matters! The size of YOUR wallet, that is. And don't forget Power! That's a huge female attractant. Why else do you think those hot blondes/sultry brunettes are arm candy for slobs who look like Harvey Weinstein or geeks like Woody Allen??? You think women "love" them for their brains? AWALT! Luckily my husband didn't marry me for either my earning power or my looks. But if he had, I'd hope he'd have the good sense to choose the characteristic that was about to increase as I aged instead of quickly fading. Now we have a comfortable retirement, while neither of us expects the other to win any beauty pageants.
I'm weary of this argument over whether men are more shallow for choosing beauty or women for choosing socioeconomic status. Both would be better off looking deeper. Is he or she honest, dependable, good company, sane, a non-addict? You can marry someone who's hot or rich if you like, but experience tells us it's not a great idea. My advice to men is marry when you fall in love. She may not be the choice your parents would want for you. She may not stay with you for 50 years. Even your best possible choice for a wife may result in a divorce. So marry the woman you fall in love with.
My advice to women is; don't even date a man who would not be a good husband and father. With that stipulation met THEN marry the man you fall in love with. Listening to: J. Geils Band- "First I Look at the Purse"
Election Fraud on a National Scale?

More stress than Organic Chem? Good rejoinder. The snowflakes who get stressed out at conservative speakers on campus would need four exams to total 80 points on Organic Chemistry tests. I doubt the hours a week they spend studying out of class for all their courses total what most Organic students spend on Organic alone. These snowflakes ought to be in kindergarten. They're "not ready for prime time".
It seems to me that in the past 20 years progressivism has evolved from "we reject your ideas" through "You have to believe our ideas", to you are not allowed to even intimate that there are alternatives to our ideas."

Funny how politicians are always campaigning for growth and jobs, and yet here is a case of a company putting thousands to work, while providing a useful service at an affordable price to millions and they want it shut down. I guess the little people/voters don't matter so much after all. |
