Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

You do not have to love Donald Trump to approve of what he has been doing


You can't dispute that he has big cojones, makes the Bushies and Obama look like wimps. His style reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt.  If you are a Never-Trumper, do not watch this thing because you will become depressed and we want happy readers who enjoy life regardless of politics.

The President is a classic New Yorker. It explains 99% of what he says and does. I have absolutely no problem with that. Sometimes when I hear Trump speaking, it's almost like he's channeling Ed Koch. Some of Trump's more outrageous statements actually make me laugh. It's part of the New York personality.

Yes, excellent. I loved the part where Trump seemed to be coaching Mueller "calm down, take deep breaths."

But the best part was cutting Dean Wormer in after Brian Stelter. I think we should start calling Stelter "Flounder." It's an apt description of both him and his behavior.

Best line is the last one - and so true.

They sneer at him for being an "outsider" - but he has had to play New York politics for years, and saw the media up close while cultivating his VIP image in NYC and then hosting a reality show.

And he's not exactly uneducated - Wharton School of Business?

He is the "barbarian prince" that the effete Romans thought they were influencing/controlling. He knows them and their turf up close - and is repulsed by it.
