We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Sounds like you were at A-Basin. Just a few short miles from The Divide and they have, IIRC, the second highest lift terminus in North America. It can be VERY cold and breezy out there. I stopped at The Divide one time in early January. Weather was brutally cold and windy. A car pulled up and four guys and a dog jumped out. Three of the four clicked into their skins and went over the guardrail with the dog in hot pursuit. The fourth guy jumped back in the car and, presumably, went to fetch them wherever they were going to end up.
There are very few trails open yet - it is very early in the season for the Summit and Eagle areas. Skiing with so few trails open suggests a season pass or deeply discounted lift tickets.
