We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I loved following the NBA, and it was a point of connection with one of my sons, who is very knowledgeable. This year looks like a good one for my team as well. But I just shut them off and don't follow anymore. It's a pointless protest, because I am not a buyer of shirts, or tickets, or cable packages, but it's all I've got. I'm done.

To paraphrase the Big Lebowski, I pressed the remote until the television went 'click'. Did it for the NFL, found it even easier for the NBA. The American League better watch its butt. I think Americans are finding their voice by internally nodding and quietly deciding to act. Dick's found out. Gillette found out. Americans buy products from people doing their job. Virtue signalling is not their job.

well, you COULD start crossbreeding them with another dairy breed. It's not like other cows don't exist.

and on this note: I was perusing a puppy finder website. I was shocked to see what we used to call 'mutts' being sold for $1000 or more. Just because they were crosses of two designer breeds of dogs. Which seem to be bred to each other not to improve the lineage and increase favorable traits but because it sounds cute when you join the names together.

I actually know a few dairy owners and in their case this isn't true. They have bulls and somehow I doubt that they are the two bulls in question.

It isn't too late but we will only get a handle on the size of government by letting it bankrupt itself. During the depression school districts laid off a large number of teachers and for years after the school districts would not allow a husband and wife to both work at a school district as it was not uncommon that both would be laid off.

She really showed herself when she dropped out of the Fortune event because Gabbard was coming. Just like a teen girl who won't go to a party because her social rival is going.

For someone who praises 'gutsy' women, she's a total wuss. (of course we saw that on election night)

My wife observed that women do more damage to one another than anything from sexist men.

I'm no expert but the flowers in question including the attached picture were boring and unattractive. I assume that to the experts in the flower business these must be top of the line. What can I say I thought they were unappealing.

Re: The Frick. That will be very sad news, if it comes to pass. I was there in 2001 and it was an unforgettable experience. The building itself was an important part of it. Admission was $4. I practically had the place to myself on a midweek afternoon.

Is there nothing these know-it-all architecture morons will leave unscathed?
