Well, you have to start with the "casino-like economy" - getting rich and successful is just something that happens for no rhyme or reason, just the same as you or I could easily have as many Super Bowl rings as Tom Brady if we had gotten lucky instead of him. It's not as if working insanely hard at something you're good at and love doing is any sort of path to success or that if you're good at something and love doing it you're going to continue doing it once you've made enough money to stop doing it. I might ask this writer if the NYT paid him $1 million per article how many articles he'd write before he quit writing and why, if he hates writing so much that he'd gladly give it up at the first opportunity, does he continue slaving away at a job he hates?

LOL - Keep in mind that a real man from my neck of the woods, a guy by the name of John Rocker, went to New York City and, when asked what he thought of the city, told them what he thought and the whole city had a nervous breakdown, whining and crying and wetting their little girlie panties over what a meanie John Rocker was. It's a pretty safe bet that the average New Yorker's idea of a manly man is something the rest of us normal people refer to as "a man's man, if you know what I mean and I think you do." Real men don't spend half the night on the twitters whining and crying about how unfair it is that the mean girls are always picking on him, for starters.

I think that the article about Chinese spies exposes the tip of the ice burg. The U.S. policies about who enters the country and how they enter is stupid, suicidal and intentional. It is likely that every military site in the U.S. has been scoped out, surrounded and sabotage is sitting in the basement of "new U.S. citizens" waiting for the green light. Ditto for every large airport and large industry in this country. I think we have been sleeping at the wheel and the Chinese belt and road runs right through America over our dead bodies.

If one looks back at ship's passenger manifestos it is quite easy to see this country was very picky about who they let in. A person had to be healthy, give an address of a relative or someone that would act in their interest, and how much money they were in possession of when entering the United States. Through the second half of the 19th century but I'm unsure when the policy was put forward. Possible the time frame mentioned in the article. There are stories about someone getting sick on the voyage and not being allowed to enter the country, there by being sent back home. They safeguarded this country and it's people.

I understand how the Left indirectly kills businesses with regulations. I chalk it up to ignorance and stupidity.

But this is simply a legislative initiative to shut an entire business sector down, throwing thousands out of work and eliminating a popular public service. It boggles my feeble mind that they would do that.

And yet, for all the cumulative burdens placed on California business by their ruling masters in Sacramento, employment is near an all time high.

It seems like a pretty dumb move to me. Anybody who eats cold cereal and likes Kellogg brand cereals would be happy to buy them but people who are fed up with the LGBTqrstuvwxyz agenda will likely get Post or some other cereal. I suspect that number is significant given the number of people who flock to Chick-fil-A when the LGBTqrstuvwxyz folks get mad at them.

I’m sure you all realize this is SOP, the norm, a perk, an entitlement, in the SWAMP, almost everyone does it across the board. Talk about your privilege,... that is some weapon's grade "privilege" right there.... Then, not surprisingly, our noble SJWs and other gas hags offer the pretense that the beneficiaries of so called “privilege” are unemployed white factory workers in Ohio.

The opioid epidemic lawsuit is now going to be resolved with a multi-billion dollar settlement. It could be $50 billion. The drug companies will pony up $50 billion that goes into a trust fund and the lawyers then go on TV and advertise for anyone who has ever known anyone who took drugs or is related or did themselves or whatever. Then that trust fund is defunded a million here a million there until it is all in the lawyers pocket (oh and a few druggies too). Is this a great country or what?

But the drugs that the drug companies produce did not cause all these deaths. The deaths are the result of the fentanyl in the illegal drugs that the druggies use. The fentanyl is made in China and brought here through Mexico by the drug cartels. So why sue the drug companies??? Because... $50 billion!!!
You can't sue the drug cartels or Mexico or China... DUH! And even if you did you wouldn't get $50 billion... DUH!!. You go for the deep pockets regardless of fault. You seat a jury of illiterate and ignorant "peers" and you lie like a lawyer. Voila the jury finds in your favor and you all go out and buy BMWs.

But what happens next? I am alive today thanks to the pharmaceutical industry and statistically half of everyone living today in the U.S. is as well. What happens when we take $50 billion from the pharmaceutical industry?? I don't know, I would guess less research, fewer life saving drugs and perhaps a lot of deaths over time. If I were in charge of a drug company I would move out of the litigious U.S. just so the company could survive. So other than the stock of BMW skyrocketing what happens next???
