Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Apocalypse sells!


At Maggie's, we're all glumly awaiting the asteroid. That's a sure thing, in time. Watch out for it, prepare.

Yes, we do loves us some good Apocalypse!

Me, I'm rooting for the coming Ice Age. Sure, it will be inconvenient having to shovel the driveway in June, but if it puts an end to all this bad science, then I'm in!

Yes, on a long enough timeline, we are guaranteed a cataclysmic asteroid impact, similar to the one 65 million years ago that wiped out the dinosaurs and 75% of all life on Earth.

Or the (probable) even bigger asteroid that hit 430 million years and wiped out 95% of all life. Or the impact with a planet-sized object about 4.2 billion years ago that liquified the entire Earth, with the Moon being formed from the debris.

I have personally survived (at least) six world-as-we-know-it catastrophic disasters. The Club of Rome exhaustion of natural resources. The Global cooling of the 1970"s. World Population Explosion and mass starvation. The Peak Oil. The Y2K computer collapse and now Global Warming. In addition, I have survived, the beginning of the cold war , the end of the cold war, the Vietnam war, Kennedy Assassination, Nixon's resignation, Carter's stagflation, Reagan's Presidency, the Clinton Affair Impeachment, The collapse of the Soviet Union, Obama's management of the decline of the USA, and now happily surviving Trump's Administration.
All of these man-made disasters were only disasters in the minds of the fear mongers, the intellectual midgets, and the drama queens of the corporate media. Pardon me if I seem un-impressed with man-made disasters.
