Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Re: Tucker Carlson
QUOTE: This is not to say that Americans are stupid. They (we) aren’t. But we have become quite secure in our own country’s prosperity and extremely self-sufficient. ... Decadence leads to torpor, and torport, to vitriolic resistance when the truth is exposed, because it messes our neat little framework up. As far as it goes, this is pretty accurate, at least in my experience. What's missing, and I believe it is a key point, is that we are also taught from an early age, to accept simplistic explanations and to reject explanations that are even a bit more complicated. Life can be very complicated, indeed. Hence, Stanford rejects buildings named for people with "complex legacies."
Stanford president is French Canadian, lecturing an American University about supposed bad things that Spanish Missionaries did to Indigenous Americans hundreds of years ago.
Sounds legit. Shouldn't the University then change its name entirely, as Leyland Stanford made the fortune used to endow the University by exploiting as cheap labor thousands of imported Persons of Chinese descent who were then subjected to systemic racism by the Railroad itself?
Hey, I thought proggies relished "shades of gray" arguing the "black and white thinking" was the dominion of those simpleton Conservatives!
The Clowns [C_A] developed a specific program to debunk thinking of complex human undertakings by encouraging people to think of complex explanations as "conspiracy theory", implying those rational skeptics who question the "official version" of anything, as being deranged or crazy. The principal of "Occam's Razor" is constantly exhorted by the MSM, as the ONLY way to view human events. >> The principal of "Occam's Razor" is constantly exhorted by the MSM, as the ONLY way to view human events.
What?! Exactly when was Occam's Razor used in the analysis of the Ukrain phone call? It was sliced, diced, marinated, breaded, deep fried, oven roasted, then smothered in "Secret Sauce". The plain text - Our lawmakers must not be REDUCED to reading the plain text; and yes, they refuse, because... Racist! . Stanford should just call it quits, fire all employees, sell the grounds and buildings. Even that is NOT ENOUGH.
The photo at the top puts me in mind of Hillary claiming in the 1990's there was a Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy against her and her husband. Projection.
Or narcissism, like dictators who get enraged at getting only 98% of the vote. The meme for that photo should read:
WE GOT 'EM RIGHT WHERE WE WANT 'EM! I saw the headlines re: Trump ordered to turn over tax returns. Let's call it what it is: donor class flunkeys and puppets on a fishing expedition. Goes to show, even if you are from Chicago, you can't be too cynical regarding the governing class.
What this is, is open and blatant prosecutorial misconduct. They stated from the beginning that they were going to get his returns so they could search for anything embarrassing or potentially illegal so they can run him out of office. That a federal judge would go along with this tells you so much about our federal judges. It is time for a purge.
You'd THINK that the IRS would be up in arms about this.
I mean, they are questioning that Trump is getting away with something, although he's been audited every year (?). Course the IRS agents might like to to be considered a weapon. If he got away with anything wouldn't that reflect on the competence and/or the integrity of the IRS.
Let's face it: the CIA needs to be dismantled. How Truman got sucked into approving its inception is beyond belief...and reports suggest he felt the same way after watching Dulles at work, inflaming groups to start wars and developing ratlines to run every sort of drug, arm, and human for his underground pocketbooks that paid the way. With 17 security agencies spread around our government, certainly there is a better way to secure intelligence...and UST intelligence.
women have charged into the workplace, but still do the lion’s share of household work For a decade I've lived alone, worked 40 hour + a week in construction and all the household chores, cooking shopping, laundry, cleaning etc. Also on most weekends cut, chopped, stacked firewood to heat the house in the winter. So where's the stories of my burn out?....oh...wait..I forgot...Its me, I'm the problem..never mind.
I can tell you from experience that women choose to do the household work and actually like using it as a foil to complain about their spouse. It is something women learn in childhood at their mother's knee.
I always just paid someone to do my share of the housework.
Not only do they CHOOSE to do the housework, BUT, if a man chooses to assist by taking on any housecleaning chores, a woman will declare his efforts were done incompetently and proceed to RE-DO it all, by her own volition!
That's the passive-aggressive trick they all learn from their mothers! ANYTHING to knock a man down a few notches, since they have NO chance at doing so physically! Every married man gets that trick! What's HYSTERICALLY funny is the number of professional women who rush around cleaning the house just prior to the arrival of their paid professional maids!
Just like their insistence on cleaning the dishes to a spotless condition, BEFORE placing them in the dishwasher! Guess it's a "FEMALE" thing. Biden
Incredible that the media keep saying 'no PROOF'. If they had that much of a case against Trump, you know what the headlines would look like. But let's suppose Joe really, really didn't do 'anything illegal'. There is a concept of 'appearance of corruption' If Hunter's success really had nothing to do with his dad being VP, any reasonably astute person would have enough sense to deal with that perception at the very beginning, on not open his mouth digging deeper. In the very "best" ( and that's a most unrealistic assumption), he certainly does not have the brains or good sense to be dealing with sensitive international issues. Yow. Bill, can you explain why "Bill Nye Saves The World" season 1 got 75% on Rotten Tomatoes critic reviews, but only 27% among viewers?
Some viewer comments: "I prevented my kids from watching this garbage." - Charley B. "Some of it's just weird where he promotes orgies in cartoon form and he uses reasoning like "the science of feelings". - Maxwell F. "Why did he do it? Where did it all go wrong for him?" - Jakob S. "Absolute disgrace." - Nathan G. "There is so much cringe that it becomes painful to watch." - Jon S. "What an annoying man." - Bob E. "Butt Stuff? Really, Bill?" - Mark W. "I have never quite been this disappointed." - Heather H. "Easily one of the worst conceive shows on tv right now." - Joey S. "Really surprised at just how bad this is." - Ben C. "My jaw dropped in horror." - Amy W. "Comes from the deepest fiery pits of Frankfurt hell. Insufferable." - Marcial A. Top EU Court Wants Global Removal of ‘Hateful’ Content on Facebook: But, but, EVERYTHING is "hateful"!
Rotten Tomatoes: The RTers are leftists. They don't think the way that regular folks think, because they KNOW they're "smarter". I didn't do on-line dating. I met my wife the old-fashioned way: my two neighbor ladies set us up.
In Harvard’s Magical Admissions Process, Nobody Gets Hurt: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Stanford: Went nuts all by itself. Denying history. Top EU Court Wants Global Removal of ‘Hateful’ Content on Facebook: But, SURELY, everything is HATEFUL. They'd get to decide what's 'hateful'.
Pretty soon anything posted in English will be. re: Python in Everglades
there are probably bigger ones out there, eating away. i wonder how many feral cats there are in the western Miami and Ft Lauderdale suburbs that are close to the Everglades; the pythons would do us all a world of good by eating them. personally, i think the more interesting stories are about the American crocodile expanding its habitat in South Florida. one was found on a golf course around Tarpon Springs, wildlife officials moved him back to the Everglades, and he returned to the same golf course, swimming around the tip of the State. FPL's Turkey Point power plant has a mile of cooling canals that the crocs loved (all that warm water), but I guess they got too numerous and moved north. |
