We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I just don't understand this attitude. I believe in total free speech even if someone's feelings are hurt or hate speech is spoken. If someone says something that isn't true then expose the lie. If someone says something that is hateful then that becomes their burden to bear. There is only one reason to deny us free speech and that is so that the elite can control us.
So let me see... these people are using free speech to promote ending free speech. What would those people do if no outlet would accept their anti-free speech column? Would they decry that there was no free speech?
That item is in the opinion column and it is written by a writer from the New Yorker. Would you really expect a different outcome from the self appointed intellectuals? They understand not a single reason for the inclusion of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. Yet they suppose they must lecture us. Such arrogance. Such snowflakes.
