We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

By referring only to old black gospel music are we to believe all the old white gospel music has already been saved? I'll bet there are many thousands of gospel records recorded by white groups that are not being saved.
The Baylor archive site has some great music from church groups and lesser known chorales, and it's freely accessed. Some of this stuff is already available on iTunes and Amazon for groups that were better promoted at the time, for example many of the Golden Gate Quartet's records can be found there. My dad had a portfolio book of 78's from this group that I used to play when I was a kid, all their own arrangements.
