So many of your tags today are on a similar theme, the behavior wars and the Tyranny of the Spoiled Rotten. There's a quick corrective solution to all of them, as every responsible parent knows. I'll just suggest, for example, that a skilled comedian would be capable of gently moving a crowd from safely droll topics on social issues into trickier ones over the course of a performance, culminating with material that the less capable would consider to be career dynamite, that would nonetheless deliver the comedian's real goal of inspiring self-introspection and discovery. Victory would be achieved when someone in the audience turns to a loudmouth SJW and tells them to shut the f*ck up.

I think our quality of life and electronic access have bred a couple of generations of incurious spectators, many of whom have never really discovered their identity and who think that any kind of attention makes for a suitable substitute. They're not going to change until someone makes it clear that they have no right to the undivided attention of others.

As Israel, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Hungary, Ukraine, Slovenia, Austria, and others have already discovered (and as the US is discovering), border walls are highly effective at stopping unwanted illegal traffic. Pity the politician, subsequently elected, who decides to start tearing them down; the imagery of such intentional destruction is political suicide, much more so than just standing by being quietly passive at the transgressions. That's why Trump is having such a hard time getting the American wall built; it's a long, long term solution.
