Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Answers to yesterday's Brain Exercise

Take more time if you need it. Answers on continuation page, below.

1. The South Pole. You all got that one.

2. Any point one mile south of a one-mile circumference around the North Pole.

3. The Magnetic North Pole is a possible, but lame and awkward answer. No points for it.

The Dylanologist got it in 2 minutes. How long did you take?

There is a problem, of course. If you are one mile south of the north pole, and walk one mile north, you are standing on the north pole. There is no east from there. Walking in any direction is due south.

On the merry-go-round, however...
