Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Trump’s nastiness is making him look weak"
To those with an employees mind. Trump is a fighter. The author wishes he would let the media/Left define him. This open fighting makes those with a follower/employee mindset upset. Those who are comfortable, or at least understand it, with the uncertainty of life/business don't pay much attention to what Trump as a leader must do to win. Many people want to be lied to. Which is why politicians lie. People don't want to hear the uncertainty of normal life. This makes them feel good as a dependent of the state without adult responsibility. You see this in college students who've never had adult responsibilities, professors with their sinecures, suburban women, etc. They don't want to know the "leader" isn't absolutely sure. It's different for small business owners, project people, those who have been educated to take the world warts and all. They aren't as upset if the "boss" talks about the probabilities and possible obstacles. They aren't concerned if the "boss" is a difficult to get along with. I think this is why certain groups don't like Trump. I also think that Trump will become more the soothing leader persona as the election approaches. But that's a year away. Right now, disrupting the Democrats is more important. The big issue for me is this: When we start to re-shore manufacturing jobs, how will we keep the unions from destroying everything? Unions shops are a disaster. Right-to-work laws will have to be strengthened enormously, so that union thugs can't take over. And the country will need really tough anti-union governors, and leaders. Further, people will need to be prepared for lies like this:
"Public employee unions, like private-sector unions, prefer not to put employers out of business through extravagant demands." Public Employee Unions make the MOST extravagant demands. That's why they have to go. All of them. Private enterprise unions do not bother me in the least...they have to compete with other union and non union enterprises. Those enterprises pay for those costs out of their profits and are accountable to investors. Public employee unions are a travesty. They are monopolies with no allowed competition. Those signing the wage and benefit packages do not have to pay those costs...that is dumped on the taxpayer at some future date.
It won't be a problem because the manufacturing jobs aren't coming back except in a pipe dream. Even if it were possible Trump won't be President forever and the next
Democrat President will squash the economy like a bug. Religious liberty:
If you don't have freedom of conscience, you don't have freedom. Freedom is not a fixed pie. It should taken from one to another, there is plenty of room for real freedom: gays can have the freedom to marry, others can have the freedom not to partake. What greatly disturbs me is that it seems not enough to give certain people freedoms, it's used as a punishment for disapproved opinions. Though I am a 'none' (an atheist actually) I support religious freedom as part of freedom of conscience. correcting a typo above
It should not taken from one to another Trump's nastiness is what's making him look weak? I thought it was his habit of getting on the twitters 15 times a day to whine and cry about how the mean girls are always being so unfair to him that made him look weak. All the people who call Trump a fighter - uh, cat fights, insults, name-calling and "witchy" remarks don't count unless you're a 12-year old girl. Or, you know, "festive". nttawwt.
Whichever character defects Trump displays; whining, name calling, “witchy remark"-ing (whatever the 'f that is) I will be forever grateful he ended the political career of the nastiest bitch that ever rolled down the pike: Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Besides, 6 millions new jobs in 30 months, lowest unemployment in 50 years, trying to end China's thievery (which neither Clinton, Bush, nor Obama had the balls to do) so far I'm really likeing his weakness. Democrats hate that Trump fights. Name one Republican, just one, who wouldn't have caved on Kavanaugh and went with another more moderate SC prospect just to appease the democrats. And he uses Twitter to communicate, and effectively. Sure, some are bitchy, but the MSM has become such an absolute fucking dumpster-fire of lies and agenda-driven "reporting" that I don't mind at all.
Trump’s nastiness is making him look weak ...This article says DJT should act above the fray...but Bush did that for 8 years and it does not work. Make the left live up to the rules they demand of us and call them out for their hypocrisy, do it good and hard.,.
Homelessness solution "...isn’t easy, won’t work, and will cost a fortune."
That may be the point. QUOTE: The nuclear family, God, and national pride are a holy trinity of the American identity. What would happen if a generation gave up on all three? Angela Merkel... Heh. Yep.
My entering assumption on these polls is the same as climate change. There is a heat island effect that is ignored. The kids being sampled are children of bitter liberal agnostics in the I5 and I95 corridors. The rest of American youth is working, going to church, and thankful for their country. Re MD shortage, this is not particularly new as a review of headlines over the past 50 yrs will show. However it should be noted that the EMR (electronic record) put a 15-25% hit on MD (and RN) throughput, with nurses more severely affected. This has not improved matters in any way.
But not to worry, it only takes 2 yrs to convert a BSN to a PhD noctor, who with a data base/training roughly similar to an early 4th yr medical student, will be able to fill the gap. |
