We had three commanding officers of our local Marine base purged in one year, each for the euphemistic "failing to inspire confidence." There was never any statement that they were incompetent or hadn't done their duty or did something wrong, they just "failed to inspire confidence." But people realize the phrase means they violated the political correctness rules. Like the Soviet Union, units now have political correctness officers embedded in them whose job it is to spy on others and report it to the authorities.

Hundreds and hundreds of officers, both high ranking and less, were purged from the military during the Obama years, and they continue to be purged.

I have a friend who is a part-time medical officer in the Air Force Reserves. He said when he volunteered and went through officer training (he was already a civilian doctor), ninety percent plus of the training was on political correctness and what you could and could not say, and what sort of terminology you had to use to not be perceived as insensitive, etc. He said it was absolutely ridiculous.
