The mayor and the police were complicit in this left wing attack in Portland. Exactly as they were in the left wing attacks in Charlottesville.

IMHO the Antifa are terrorists. They are the left wing "brown shirts" of the Democrat party. It is against the law to attend demonstrations while wearing masks or other disguises. Their actions at these demonstrations were illegal. But the police did not enforce the laws because... well because the group is left wing and DNC approved.

Maybe they took a lesson from Zuccotti Park in November 2011, when NYPD’s mounted unit and helmeted, baton wielding cops, kicked the shit out of the Occupy Wall Street protesters and tore down their camp in the park.

It was fun to stand there and watch real cops do their jobs.

Portland’s a waste anyway, been a dumpster fire since the early 80’s.

I am a Democrat.

I joined the party in 1959 - just after I was discharged from the Marines. Me and three of my fellow Marines all joined.

That was when they appeared to be giving up their racist positions. Also, there was no Republican (or other) party in Georgia.

When asked why I remain in the party I always reply: "Because I hope my party returns to normalcy sometime but I don't think it will happen in my lifetime".

Hitler's armies were not a ploy for scientists to get more funding, nor for the elite to take away our lifestyles.

But it's just like D-Day would have been if there were zero evidence of Nazis, and people kept screaming at you that 130,000 men should leave their homes and families and risk death on the beach to fight a foe that only you could see, and every time someone asked diffidently for evidence, you produced nonsense that you would later scrub and alter while insulting your adversaries and accusing them of wanting to kill the world. And you'd write and try to keep secret little manifestos in which you more or less openly admitted the purpose of the whole thing was to snooker idiots out of power and money.

Kamala is not eligible to run for president unless she can produce documents (not fakes) confirming that her parents were citizens at the time of her birth.

For that matter, neither is Tulsi. The Constitution calls for 2 (two, dos, deux, zwei) citizen parentS. Samoa doesn't birth U.S. citizens.

feeblemeind, I'm surprised by your comment. The qualifications for president and vice-president are the only ones mentioning "natural born" (vs. native born) as a qualification. In the past, there has been volumes written on why the commander in chief should be such:

A 'natural born Citizen’ born in the country to parents who are both Citizens of the country when the child is born is a person born with unity of Citizenship and sole allegiance at birth. That minimizes chances of foreign influences on the child by birth circumstances which is exactly what John Jay had in mind when he suggested the term “natural born Citizen” to George Washington in his 1787 letter."

I liked the High Line all right. Gay men seem to like it - I don't know why. Blacks and Hispanics were uncommon - I don't know why. There were a disproportionate number of tourists.

I was a Democrat once. This was in the immediate post-Watergate days, when the Republican response seemed to be quite disingenuous. Being from Louisiana, there was no other game in town anyway, and I stuck with them after I moved. At that time, there were other things going on in my life that probably colored my judgement, but that's another story.

This lasted until I showed up for another envelope-stuffuing exercise, and asked for a clarification off the positions of the two principal candidates for the Party's nomination. They somehow took this as disloyalty, and ran me off. I was pretty sore about that until my first five years in public service. This was a rude education in what one Director I worked for referred to as the difference between "the real world and the one we all live in."

The Democrats won't repent or otherwise rethink their position. There will be no return to normalcy. It's all about power with them. With very rare exception, they won't give that up, even if reality collapses around them.
