We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Who never had a dalliance with Marxism as a youth, before understanding human nature and basic economics? Stumbling and Mumbling remembers Ted Grant. The comments are excellent.
Me. At about age thirteen I became convinced that warfare and such was a constant of history and probably embedded in human nature, and worse, that human nature was inherited. So when I came into contact with the fringes of Marxism I classed it with astrology. I never bothered to learn much about it but talking to its adherents confirmed me in my opinion. Especially when folks with visibly violent and totalitarian urges talked about peace and democracy. Ick. What a giant bogosity.
