Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. I can understand Mueller's reluctance to testify. If he DOES, he'll have to say that Barr was correct in his summary of the investigation, and he'll then become hated by the Dems.

If he doesn't - then the Dems can continue to say that summary was wrong and whip up all sorts of crazy crap about it and they will still love him.

But I'm thinking there's nothing that'll satisfy the Dems at this point. They're frothing mad, certain there's SOMETHING they can impeach Trump on, and every failure to find a cause just frenzies them further.

ZeroHedge got it exactly right: they need someone to go on TV to act out the Mueller report, which isn't generating enough fizz in its written form.

Mueller probably should have filed a trailer instead of letting Barr go on camera first.

Actually he'll get it from the pubbies too. They'd ask him things like, "At what point did you know there was no collusion?", "Why did you hire only partisan Democrat prosecutors?", "Why did you hire Andrew Weissmann when he has a reputation for prosecutorial misconduct?", and "Since your job was to investigate Russian influence in the 2016 election, why did you ignore Russian activities with the Hilldebeast's campaign?" Sir Mueller, the white knight would likely end up looking not nearly as white after a day or two of public testimony.

The question of, when did you know that there was no collusion, would be the first thing I would ask. There are just too many ways that Mueller testifying in public could go bad for him. Thus it would be bad for the democrats

It makes me wonder just how smart Nadler et al are. They might be able to get Mueller to bang on a bit about the second part of "his" (how much of it did he really write?) report but in the end, the inescapable conclusion of the report was that Democrats have been, shall I say "pleasuring themselves", with the delusion of collusion. His testifying will hurt Democrats as well as himself.

I guess that's what happens when you are so blinded by hate that it is indistinguishable from their self interest.

I think it's worse than that. I think his lawyer would advise him to take the 5th rather than put himself in jeopardy. There is sufficient evidence that he was part of the Russiagate story AND that his investigation was both a coverup and a effort to take down Trump.

Regarding cold brew:
That's a bad take, clearly written by someone who doesn't appreciate the versatility of good cold brew. Cold brew isn't some new magical process for making coffee. It's gotten a lot more popular in the past few years, but I've been drinking cold brew coffee (hot in the winter, cold in the summer) for decades, as has my father.

What people who only get their cold brew from Starbucks or other stands don't realize is that you can use it to make a perfectly wonderful hot cup of coffee. You just pour in a couple shots of cold brew concentrate, and add hot water. Boom, you've got a great tasting, wonderfully smooth cup of java. Even better, it makes cheap store coffee taste great, and expensive coffee taste fantastic!

You're correct about that take. Makes me wonder if that person has ever tried cold brew.

I make my own, mostly drink it cold. It's a smoother version of coffee.

Then again, I'm a big coffee fan. Hot brewed coffee, Iced coffee, Espresso, Cafe Americano, lattes, machiatos, etc. - have yet to meet a coffee beverage i don't like.

I will agree on the heavily sweetened drinks they sell at Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts - abominations!

Drought: the PNW actually is in drought this year. Seems more of our moisture moved south to Oregon and CA. We were green through January. Feb brought 6 weeks of winter. What was unique is that normally we thaw with warming to rain, usually in short order. Not this time. Slow warming with melt. April brought a couple weeks of showers that maybe brought us to 50% of normal.
A couple weeks ago we had 2 days in the 80's, people were loosing their minds (CLIMATE CHANGE! We're doomed! The government needs to remind people to stay hydrated! We need PSA's, people.) now we're probably a couple degrees below normal. Is the news and opinion reporting on that?
No. Now we're focused on the ending of Game of Thrones! (and that we need to defend the right to kill our fetuses.)

Denver set a record low last night, 30°F (1890). Yesterday was a record low max temperature. It has been a cool damp spring. I had 4 inches of snow on the ground yesterday; broke a lot of tree limbs around town. It was the latest measurable snow fall since the 1960’s. Weather patterns change.

Does anyone else notice that weather people report average temperatures as normal? “Today the temperature was 78°, 10° above normal.”

Having been stalked and blacklisted by the feminist liberal nazi regime which is now in power, I do understand how frustrating it can be. Does anyone here have any idea as to how to stop the harassment? I would not look to our legal system because that is no longer functioning. I do not believe in retaliation, maybe the internet is the place to expose some of these gals and their "handlers"? MF readers must understand that every woman in any decision making position in the US today has come up through an indoctrination system. Something like our unions or other cults. Beginning at an early age if their mommy got them into the right social group they must prove their loyalty, their obedience by doing "slightly off" things. By hurting the innocent to prove to their handlers that they will be an asset and that they have the courage to do illegal, immoral, unethical things. It begins in the early years of school and each year is a new "test". Just like the mafia. You fathers out there who have daughters "moving up" you should be aware of the system.

I contended with these neo-Maoists my last two decades in public service. I can tell you what worked for me, but it may or may not be helpful to you.

The first thing is to get yourself in a position in which at least a few key players higher up the food chain are highly dependent on your work and cant get it anywhere else. Do this work with a standard of integrity that makes those around you at least annoyed by such a high bar. In any organization, particularly if it is highly politicised, there are those in the upper echelons who appreciate the value of having a "white knight" in reserve, and will be sure to protect such a person.

Know how to fight by the antagonist's rules, and you will know where she's vulnerable. Let it be known indirectly that you know this, that you know how to counter it, and that you will not hesitate to do so.

Let it also be known that, should you be forced into a war, you will respond with massive retaliation, such that the cost to your antagonist will not be worth the perceived benefits. The people you're dealing with are basically cowards, which is why they tend to hide in a mob. Mobs, by their nature, will expell their weakest members rather than risk their vulnerabilities: your antagonist's need to avoid "looking bad" is perhaps your greatest advantage.

Musashi is quoted as having noted that if you would control others, you must first control yourself. Therefore, to the extent you are able, do not offer any hint that they may have bothered you. It is a lot of work to go into your job every day at DEFCON3, but it beats having to go to DEFCON1 even once.
