We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Every winter, they can be seen almost daily in a bayside field of about 30 acres a couple of miles from our house. The field is privately owned now and not developed. The local state park is negotiating to buy it.
Better for the land and the animals if it remains in private hands and away from government and NGO do-gooders who want to make it into "controlled nature" for "nature preservation" by putting fences around it, selectively killing and introducing species to "get a proper balance", and crap like that that's destroyed the natural environment in pretty much every national park.
Conservation is so yesterday! We gotta have windmills! South Texas and along the coast is littered with 'em. The left and greenies want to chop up birds. What was the point of protecting these cranes and then populate the coast and south Texas with wind farms?
