We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Our buddy last week, in south Texas, with a 265 lb. tusker shot with a 338 Win Mag at 85 yards. Pig goes to the local church for their summer pit barbecue. Wild pig is always in season, and no-one complains.
This picture would be ripe for Fark photoshopping!
And yet all I can think of is some slow cooked pulled pork with mustard based barbeque sauce, rice, pickles, green beans, hushpuppies and lemonade.
But that's just me.

Nice. These buggers have invaded SW Wisconsin and are giving the farmers grief. I've tried to hunt them, and yes I have a smoker, but to no avail. Largest one taken here in the last couple of years was 350 pounds by a deer hunter who happened on him by accident.
Delighted to report that we now have a wild boar population in Southern England. It is likely that DEFRA will approve their shooting in the next couple of months. Yippeeeeeeee!

I kid you not. Nobody is quite sure how they got here but the DNR has people dedicated to them already. Here's the web page... http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/PUBL/wlnotebook/Pig.htm
