We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Interesting stuff especially starting around 25:00. Around 30:00 I really enjoyed the ideas about how differently Trump campaigned from McCain and Romney. Imagine what Trump would have done with videos of Rev. Wright, or Candy Crowley moderating his debate. "He's a coiled snake." He'll never be admitted to the club, he'll never be invited to ex-presidents' funerals. He most often delivers what he promises; he may exaggerate, but you don't get the idea he was mouthing platitudes. And now he's going to be running against the Green New Deal, infanticide, reparations, wealth confiscation, open borders, you name it.
I wish I was of an age where I could have taken at least one of this guy's classes. Sane, coherent, eloquent, and erudite. How refreshing to hear someone put these views together with contrasts to historical events and personalities for perspective. Listening to VDH, that which is normal regains its rightful pre-eminence in the dialog.
You can take an on line class at Hillsdale college that features VDH lecturing on Athens/Sparta with a Hillsdale prof which is really quite good. He is the best lecturer on history that I've ever heard and uses virtually no notes...speaks from memory. All the on line classes I took there were free but I did make some donations to the college. His messaging on Trump is some of the best analysis yet.
