We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

IMHO people should go to jail for even giving public housing or any welfare to illegals.

One of the un-discussable points in the current effort to create some form of socialized health care in the U.S. is that illegal aliens will be given the same (and possibly better health care than citizens. Why?

No Collusion. And on the Obstruction - Barr's exact words.

So... I think that's pretty much enough there. No collusion, no obstruction. Trump maintaining he's innocent isn't and wasn't obstruction. Trump firing Comey, when the DEMS wanted him gone up until the point he was gone, wasn't obstruction. Trump cooperating fully with the investigation ... don't see how that could be obstruction, but I guess if you're spinning things hard enough it could be.

I laughed when I realized that the story demanding a 'queer person of color' was aimed at Camile Paglia. I have read a lot of Paglia's work and know that she is a lesbian who votes left.

Now the mob has come for her job. Nobody is safe from this lunacy.

Reminds me of a hearing on a motion to withdraw as counsel that was held while I was in the courtroom awaiting hearing on another matter. The attorney, who was the second court appointed attorney for a criminal defendant on a capital murder charge. The attorney, a female, said the accused told her he refused to work with a white woman and believed he could only be represented by a black male attorney. The trial was set for the next week. Judge said he'd already allowed substitute counsel and the accused could have requested at that time that a black male attorney be appointed. Denied the motion to withdraw.

The only thing I would add is that the claim that "women’s greater verbal skills and emotional agility." gave them an advantage over men is probably 90% wrong and surely was an opinion arrived at by a woman. Let me help her out; when women go on their mindless rants men ignore them. Sure, sometimes we have to appear to care in a mostly vain effort to keep them from apoplexy but mostly we are thinking about fishing, hunting, Seal Team on the TV tonight, what to do about that clicking noise in the car and "yes dear" I wonder if I'll get to have sex tonight. Men, real men, don't argue with women, we may respond or correct but for the most part it only causes them to resort to the crying "you don't love me" meme and frankly I would rather just ignore their ranting than try to ignore their crying self pity...
