We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The hatred only grows

Ted Cruz on CNN: 



 "But, Dana, my point is, you ask Congressman Nadler whether the House is going to impeach the president and I'll answer that for you. Yes. They fully intend to impeach the president and they don't care about the basis," Cruz explained. "Twice Congressman Nadler said something remarkable. He said, 'Listen, the special counsel's focused on crimes. We're not all that concerned with crimes. Our focus is – this is Democrats in the House – is much broader than crimes.' What they're basically saying is they're going to impeach the president for being Donald Trump and they don't care about the evidence, they don't care about the substance."

The level of hypocrisy from these clowns never ceases to amaze! These are the people who were apoplectic when Trump did not say he would necessarily concede the election if the results seemed to show he lost. Now that their putative savior has apparently found nothing serious to hang around Trump's neck, the Demonrats are going to investigate until they find something (or they think). This is nothing more than a series of attempts to negate the results of the last presidential election.

From voting to leave the border unsecured and promoting illegal immigration to promoting socialism to allowing felons to vote, to proposing to let sixteen year olds to vote to weaponizing the FBI and DOJ to corrupting the IRS to blocking voter ID laws to gun control (and eventual confiscation) to proposing to do away with the electoral college, everything they are doing and proposing is designed to give them more power. Their whole agenda is attaining and monopolizing power.

No further indictments recommended, no non-public indictments.

“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

No conclusion by Mueller one way or the other as to obstruction of justice. But Barr and Rosenstein find no evidence to support charge of obstruction of justice.

It's all over but the whining, the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments.
Dems lose again bigly.

While that theory works for collusion, i.e. talking to people is only a crime if that's the subject of the conversation, it doesn't really work for obstruction.

I think it's better to point out that the President is still covered by the 5th Amendment. Mueller had to find evidence of obstruction of his investigation. Trump had no need to prove he didn't or wasn't. Mueller clearly wanted to depose Trump i.e. set a perjury trap, but it appears he was unable to find a predicate for doing that.
