We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It starts with the calls for "transparency" in releasing not just the Mueller Report but all the documentation behind the report. Prime fodder for fishing expeditions if it were to be released, which it won't because it includes confidential information, sealed files, documents subject to attorney/client or executive privilege, etc. But when the DOJ refuses to release documents such as Michael Cohen's client files or the Trump Organizations bank records or grand jury transcripts, the cries of "cover-up" will start.
Look, it may be news when the IRS announces it's auditing you and it may be news when the IRS announces they've reached a settlement with you whereby you've agreed to pay an additional $850,000 in taxes, but that does not make your tax returns and your bank account and your business records a matter of public record. The NYT is not going to (successfully) file a FOIA request for Trump's tax returns just because the DOJ subpoenaed them, but they can certainly cry foul when their FOIA request is denied.
The constantly aggrieved lost in the court of public opinion with the 2016 Presidential election because "not Hillary" was the verdict. Then, they hoped their preconceived "guilty as charged" assertion of Trump campaign collusion with Russia would be validated by the Mueller investigation, rather than let justice play out with "innocent until proven guilty". They will never be satisfied if they don't hear what they want to hear. Thank goodness we needn't listen to their complaining about this unfairness, by turning off the sound and/or tuning them out.
