We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Saw Petty last two times he came through. I was amazed after the first time I saw him because I thought, this guy has played a million shows-I'll bet he phones it in. No chance, he and the band were effing amazing. I was bummed after the first show because he didn't play my favorite "You Got Lucky." The very last show he announces they've included a forgotten oldie, and one of his favorites, from 1982 into the playlist, and bam, there it was. Incredible. A few months later he's gone. RIP, Tom.
I took my kids to see him in the early 2000's. What amazed me about Tom and the Heartbreakers, was they sounded as good and tight live as on their recordings. The man loved music, and by the way he is playing a really cool longhorn Danelectro guitar in the video. Ditto, RIP Tom!
