We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Ted Nugent was being interviewed by a British journalist. The journalist asked, "What do you think the last thought is in the head of a deer before you shoot it? Is it`Are you my friend?` or is it `Are you the one who killed my brother?'"
Nugent replied, "They aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French in that way."
Ted Nugent is the biggest pussy on earth--I love it when those that have never had their life on the line finds it so easy to castigate others--especially when it comes to matters of war, a matter that Ted wouldn't know the first thing about. Enrolling in community college to avoid service--yeah, he has the right to talk to anybody about their toughness. Fraud.
That is because you don't feel like (or are not capable of) exercising any thought. The man talks an incredibly good game and portrays himself as a warrior and proponent of some kind of warrior lifestyle—tell me again what his ‘warrior credentials’ are? You call a spade a spade, and Nugent is a fraud.
And I guess yo uare the toughest punk on the block. You'd never see it i nmy eyes, nor my demeanor, nor my dress, but I'd rip your face off in a heartbeat as I love this country, my children and I have sonething to live for and protect... but you'd never know it from looking at me. The toughest guys never have to say a word. So, kidding me, let Ted have his day. And as for you, quit bragging about your 'hood.
Maybe just a normal fraudulent macho guy? Jeez. We all should have been in the Service, but we all were not. Nor are most guys in the Service natural warriors, either. Lots of 'em are cooks and truck repairmen.
Come on, Kidding Me - it was a good rejoinder.
"We all should have been in the Service, but we all were not."
Most of us don't go around flaunting a faux-machosim, exploiting it in order to get paid. Its called credentials and he has none. As much as I hate to use the phrase, he is a chicken-hawk, unwilling to put his money where his mouth is. That fraud wouldn't last 2 seconds in a real "tough neighborhood"--I thought you guys would be able to see through crap like that--guess not.
Hell Ted can sit in a tree stand outside MY home ! I'd rather have Ted with an odd 6 in a tree stand than "kidding me" on a 50 cal in when the shit hits the fan.... wait.. what are the rules of engagement ???? he doesn't LOOK like a combatant !
That's the point--Ted Nugent would be as far away as possible when the shit hits the fan, off somewhere safe above the fray talking shit while other people actually have to get into it.
All bark, no bite.
The toughest SOBs I know don't go around advertising it--and when the shit hits the fan they don't talk about it, they act--unlike student-deferral Ted. Funny how you assume that because I call someone out as a fraud who acts tough I must be a pacifist of some sort...
Nugent IS what he is. He's a Sportsman. And a great advocate for responsible hunting and firearms use.
It's hardly his fault for stating the obvious about the French military's reputation.
BTW, guard dog, it's called a .30 "ought" six, not 30 odd six. It stands for the .30 caliber round modified (to a spitzer bullet) in 1906 to be used in the Springfield Model 1903 rifle. We used the Springfield 1903 rifle in WWI, WWII, Korea, and even Vietnam as a sniper rifle. It's written as " .30- '06 "
