We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I do not understand why there aren't half a dozen special prosecutors appointed to look into the crimes of the Obama administration and of his appointees to high level positions. The crimes are adding up and all we got from the Republicans were hearings with no action. Trump should move now because the left is cutting him off at the knees. In 2020 if one of the far left presidential candidates gets elected we can kiss our freedoms goodbye.
Until Trump was elected I never realized how corrupt the government of the United States was, and I don't mean Trump. I no longer trust anything that comes out of DC.
I can't imagine why the Republicans lost so many seat in the House, beside fraud, that is, just kidding. They don't stand up for our side at all.
If the new AG doesn't start prosecuting some of the bad actors we've been reading about over the last several years, it will be a HUGE disappointment. I would feel a lot better if someone like Joe diGenova was up for AG. Hopefully, Andy Mc Carthy's glowing recommendation is accurate!
the Mueller investigation always had an ulterior purpose and that the refusal to release publicly what congressional investigations learned is part of the plan:
(1) Create an investigation -- Just by creating the investigation it is then used as a shield by any corrupt FBI/DOJ official who would find himself/herself under downstream congressional investigation. Former officials being deposed/questioned by IG Horowitz or Congress could then say they are unable to answer those questions due to the ongoing special counsel investigation. In this way Mueller provides cover for ideologically aligned deep state officials.
(2) Use the investigation to keep any and all inquiry focused away from the corrupt DOJ and FBI activity that took place in 2015, 2016, 2017. Keep the media narrative looking somewhere, anywhere, other than directly at the epicenter of the issues. In this way, Mueller provides distraction and talking points against the Trump administration.
(3) Use the investigation to suck-up, absorb, any damaging investigative material that might surface as a result of tangentially related inquiry. Example: control the exposure of evidence against classified leak participants like SSCI Director of Security, James Wolfe; and/or block IG Horowitz from seeing material related to the FISA abuse scandal and "spygate". In this way Mueller provides cover for the institutions and the administrative state.
In all of these objectives the Mueller special counsel has been stunningly effective.
The FBI and the DOJ effectively used the secrecy of the ongoing investigation ploy to keep most of the facts about the Waco siege on the Branch Davidians from the public eye. We still to this day don't know who did what.
