We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Apparently God wants me to eat French pastry. Last month I channel-surfed into America's Test Kitchen making gateau Breton, and successfully replicated a delicious cranberry variation at home. Now another pastry to try--yummy!
Some of your food suggestions are kind of scary to me as I have a limited pallet. This one I will make and enjoy eating every bite, sharing it of course with my spouse. I usually make an apple galette`. I use an old fashioned apple peeler, corer and slicer with the crank handle. A great invention that's been around a long time.
