We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Until they perfect robot soldiers, no danger of an EU army. Even then, it might require that member countries spend more than 1% of GDP to organize it. What welfare programs would be cut, and how would the populace respond to that?. If the US won't do it, it won't be done.
But these vehicles are sporting large EU flags. So it really is a question of optics, even though the French authorities likely meant nothing more than peppy "France-EU" boosterism by slapping the flags on the vehicles.
The EU logo can be found on a lot of thing including vehicles, building, mail boxes, etc. Just because it was on the side of a police vehicle involved in crown control doesn't mean anything. Again, someone's just trying to make nothing into something. Fake news as usual.
No borders, open migration, no tariffs, the elites having all the say in policy matters. The leaders in Europe can't do this garbage to people in other countries anymore so they do it to the poor (and, increasingly, middle class) people at home.
