Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Lack of women in philosophy? I guess Graham Drope (rhymes with Dope) never heard of Ayn Rand.
As I understand it, women's philosophy is that whatever men do is WRONG. And icky. Being a man, I am ipso facto WRONG.
#2, GWTW: The media suppressed all potentially bad news about Obama. Also, Dems are so gullible. Dean resigns: Many disappointed he did not commit seppuku. Dimming the Sun: Now THAT would suck up all the money in the world. Palin and She Guevara: The enemedia are the Dems' minions. Obama, racism and mommy issues. Yes he has always been this shallow. How did we not notice it in time to save the country 8 years of depression and his crime syndicate? Obama was a puppet, a speech reader who sometimes veered off course when he failed to carefully follow the script. Obama was our Kenyan Manchurian candidate. We can hope that like Nancy Pelosi he keeps grabbing the mike and speaking his shallow mind for all to hear.
I’m sure that there has been a few people that see what a fool Obama is, but the larger portion of people, like Joe Scarborough, actually believe crimminals like Hillary Clinton would make the world a better place. Lord, have mercy on us.
GoneWithTheWind: How did we not notice it in time to save the country 8 years of depression ...
The financial meltdown occurred before Obama became U.S. President. GoneWithTheWind: and his crime syndicate? Criminal Activity by Presidential Administration Re: the criminal activity.
That is a result of the Democrats following Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals. The Republicans during Democrat presidencies were more interested in doing their job and not in demonizing Democrats. However that is exactly the reason I recommend that Republicans appoint special prosecutors to investigate Hillary and Obama's cabinet before Jan 1. One prosecutor per criminal Obama cabinet member. DO IT!! Republicans grow some cajones!! GoneWithTheWind: The Republicans during Democrat presidencies were more interested in doing their job and not in demonizing Democrats.
Seriously?! "Lock her up!" Trump saying he wanted to order the DOJ to prosecute his political opponents. Endless Congressional investigations of Benghazi and emails leading nowhere. GoneWithTheWind: However that is exactly the reason I recommend that Republicans appoint special prosecutors to investigate Hillary and Obama's cabinet before Jan 1. There are rules for the appointment of special prosecutors: QUOTE: The Attorney General, or in cases in which the Attorney General is recused, the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted and— (a) That investigation or prosecution of that person or matter by a United States Attorney's Office or litigating Division of the Department of Justice would present a conflict of interest for the Department or other extraordinary circumstances; and (b) That under the circumstances, it would be in the public interest to appoint an outside Special Counsel to assume responsibility for the matter. "There are rules for the appointment of special prosecutors:"
Oh that's right. Let's see... Create a fake dossier. Lie to the FISA. Have a biased dishonest AG. You mean those rules?

There is no evidence of a fake dossier. The dossier is a collection of corroborated and uncorroborated allegations. There is no evidence that the FBI lied to obtain any FISA warrants. Not sure which Attorney General to whom you are referring, but Sessions was appointed by Trump.

QUOTE: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OCASIO-CORTEZ’S GAFFES AND SARAH PALIN’S? THE MEDIA When Palin was governor, no one cared outside of her home state. It was when she was running as Vice President, that it became a matter of national interest. If she had won, she would have been next in line to the presidency. Ocasio-Cortez is only one of 435 congressional house representatives, which is just one of the two chambers that make up the U.S. legislature. Mostly that Palin's bigges "gaffe" was actually a joke on SNL. Her other biggest gaffe was pairing up with McCain.
Sarah Palin's been President (and Vice President!) as many times as Hillary Clinton has. All without being married to Bill Clinton.
QUOTE: ... only one of 435 congressional house representatives, which is just one of the two chambers that make up the U.S. legislature. And thus was the pedantry singularity achieved ... Bill Carson: Sarah Palin's been President (and Vice President!) as many times as Hillary Clinton has.
Palin and Clinton were nominated by major parties to the higher offices of Vice President and President respectively. Such offices are correctly held to much higher standards than representatives in the lower house. Current pedantry super-singularity scoffs at previous singularity!
C'mon, you folks have gotten into the turpentine cabinet again, haven't you?!?
QUOTE: Donald Trump's Middle Eastern Realpolitik ... And, what did Obama do when the Iranian regime was murdering pro-democracy demonstrators in 2009? Nothing. Did it even bother to denounce the ayatollahs at that time? No. Did the New York Times editorially denounce the feckless Obama administration? You do not even need to do a Google search. I guarantee you, the answer was No. New York Times: "Obama Condemns Iran’s Iron Fist Against Protests... In his strongest comments since the crisis erupted 10 days ago, Mr. Obama used unambiguous language to assail the Iranian government during a news conference at the White House, calling himself 'appalled and outraged by the threats, beatings and imprisonments of the past few days'.” Yep, Barky promised to give them a stern talking to along with pallets of cash... 😉
Re the Saudis, Scott Adams explains the difference between the child's view of the world and the leader view
Let's just bomb the shiite out of them and take their oil - that's the worldview of a leader with the mind of a child. Let's not forget that it was the Americans and British who discovered oil in Saudi Arabia and developed the fields and infrastructure, only to have the Saudis "nationalize" (AKA steal) them. I don't advocate doing so, but it wouldn't be morally wrong to take them back.
"Furthermore, I consider that Carthage must be destroyed". the Roman senator Cato the Elder, who is said to have used it as the conclusion to all his speeches.
Why? Because he recognized that sooner or later they would go to war and why not go to war before your enemy becomes too strong. Wouldn't have been the best possible choice to challenge Hitler before the Nazis became too strong. Ditto for Japan. Waiting too long cost some 50 million lives. Is this how the world is going to end; some idiot, pseudo-messianic scientists are going to gain sufficient influence among idiot pseudo-messianic world leaders in order to block out the sun, inducing Armageddon?
No, it's not that bad. They just want to tax the shit out of you and preempt the constitution and put you under a world government and control your every action. It's a scam, it's always been a scam and they intend to tax you into poverty and take away your freedoms using this scare tactic of global warming or something. They won't really do anything about the fake problem.
My comment was mostly rhetorical and your interpretation is almost certainly correct, but I would not underestimate the stupidity of most of our politicians and scientists, who might not actually be in with the 'scam', but take it at face value.
