Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

GOP Congressman: 'Angers Me to My Core' Aren't these congress persons the same ones who promised to do things in order to get elected and then refused to when in office ? Aren't these the same ones who opposed the president who was trying to enact these very same policies we elected him for ? Well I'm happy they are gone so why shouldn't PDT be happy too?
Fer sure, fer sure. RINOs all, riding the coattails of a person with the moral courage to point out how totalitarian our government has become over the last 50+ years (probably more like 100+). AND, someone who has not really changed his direction since he first started being interviewed about politics back in 1980!
Too bad it took Donald Trump so long to run for office. Our country would have avoided some of the evil leadership we have endured with the PoppyBush/Clinton/SonnyBush/Obama reign. I really hate that we lost the House because we are going to have 2 years of hysteria, fake investigations, lies and the media piling on. Absolutely nothing of substance will happen but Acosta will have lots of headlines about Republicans not being will to reach across the aisle.
When Soros started buying the offices of Secretary of State and Attorney General in all the states, and when the Globalist own the backdoors to all the electronic voting machines across the U.S., the election results became a given.
At least, when Richard J. Daley was mayor of Chicago back in the olden dayz, you knew he had his premarked paper ballots stocked up in the closet of the polling venues with The Mob serving as protection for the bean counters. Trump's not dumping on Republicans who happened to lose, he's dumping on losers who happen to be Republican. That's how Trump sees the world, winners and losers. That's why he talks nice about Putin and Kim and Xi and now Nancy Pelosi, it's not some 8th-level wizard chess negotiating tactic, it's simply that he respects winners no matter how evil the game is they're playing or how foul their tactics. He's completely amoral in that regard. Watch him negotiate with the upcoming Democratic House, - if they had a lick of sense, they'd offer him full funding for his Big Beautiful Wall™ in return for full funding for Planned Parenthood's abortion services because he'd cheerfully sign that bill - he's said before he's just as happy working out deals with Democrats as with Republicans. He doesn't care about principles and his supporters are going to applaud his "successes" in getting things done no matter what it is he gets done. Peace with North Korea or war with North Korea, bigger budget deficits or smaller budget deficits, hiring Jeff Sessions or firing Jeff Sessions, cutting taxes or raising tariffs, repealing socialized medicine or imposing socialized medicine - as long as it's got the TRUMP name on it, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Which, by the way, Donald Trump invented.
These weak-kneed GOPe sissies who regularly ran from TRUMP, rather than fight the fakenews express, set themselves up for their own failure!
Costello dug his own grave and sheepishly crawled into it, rather than fight the Progtard LIES! He bought into their programmed "Blue Wave narrative" (See Rush's show transcript from Wednesday) and turned into a sky-is-falling nevertrumper and when push came to shove, the yellow streak up his back became very apparent!. Coffman in COLO (along with total loser GOPe Gov. candidate Walker Stapleton), regularly expressed that he would "stand up to Trump" and when his voting record showing he voted with TRUMP most of the time, his opponents flagged him as a hypocrite and he lost! Will these weakling GOPe types ever learn about fighting back??? They fully deserve to be taunted by TRUMP! They brought it on themselves. As for your "Wall for Planned Parenthood" comment, that would be a stupid deal, as the weak-kneed GOPers already gave the PP farm away! Thanks, Paul Ryan, you US CoC scumbag! I agree with you. Your assessment of Colorado Republicans is spot on.
Jeff Sessions is a nice guy, honest, hard working and a good conservative. He has indeed done some good things for Trump's agenda. BUT he is timid and seems uninterested in resolving the terrible corruption in the FBI and the DOJ. In fact he almost seems protective of those who committed crimes. He should have cleaned house like a whirlwind but instead he deferred, delayed and declined. Where is one single example of a DOJ or FBI criminal going to trial??? He was in the middle of a target rich environment and never took a shot. Unless the new AG does a 180 I predict no one from the FBI or DOJ will pay for their crimes. Another example is the total failure of the DOJ under Sessions to produce the documents that congress requested. WHY? To coverup the wrongdoers.
Sessions should have cleaned house and he didn't. Simple as that. I think he is too nice a guy for tough DC politics, I think he was in over his head. Trump did him a favor by asking him to resign and did us all a favor as well. Now appoint a bulldog. VDH is such a meanie. He is almost as vicious as the female intern that attacked Jim Acosta. I know she attacked Jim Acosta because the Washington Post said so this morning.
Re: Thugs threaten Tucker Carlson's wife and kids
A mob of people outside your house yelling that you are not safe and crashing into and cracking your oak door seems to be a valid reason for you to be able to own, not just semi automatic, but fully automatic weapons. re Election Update: Democrats Stealing Arizona, In Process of Manufacturing Votes to Steal both Governor and Senate Seats in Florida
This infuriates me beyond words, even though I knew it was coming. Dems have been doing this for a very long time and they always get away with it. re Vanderleun's town is on fire
I thought he lived in Seattle? Silly me. Yeah . . . you have to feel for those people that have lost their homes. With regard to the wildfires, one wonders how much wildlife, and how many cattle burn to death in these fires? You never hear about that. BTW . . .
I think Jerry Brown and the California legislature should ban brush fires. That should solve the problem. Used to. Moved back to CA 3 or so years ago to take care of his mother (who's IIRC 104). Anyone wishing to hit his tip jar can do so at the link on his website.
We live in a suburbn area of St. Louis. When we vote it is always by paper ballot and the counter on the box where we deposit the ballots usually has low numbers. They have reduced the size of our voting place dramatically but I don't know if they have split up the voting areas. This time when we voted the counter was nearly 500 so far above what it usually is for our polling place. Some people are beginning to catch on and a number of machines weren't working properly as seems to be the case around the country. Our county being run by Democrats we wonder if our living in a Republican area is a deliberate slight on their part. After we got home our voter ID cards and instructions for early and absentee voting were in the mail box. Nothing but corruption, just look at Florida and Arizona (and probably other places). They will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Anti-Trumpers put more focus on Trump than Trump does himself. His criticism of these quitters is spot on. Trump is not being petty, he’s trying to teach them to fight for what voters that elect Republicans say they want. It’s possible, just possible, that if they had fought on instead of retiring they could have have held the house, at least held on to some of the seats. The Dems have a will to power, the GOP does not have the will to get out of bed in the morning - and the GOP has leadership that has let down the country. It’s not Trumps ego, they all suffer from too much ego, it’s that Trump shows them up for not being willing to stand and fight for anything. The GOP and the country are better off without these GOP quitters in the long run.
