We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Thank you for posting the Lectionary. My Sunday and my week are always illuminated by reading it. Today verse 5 leapt out at me. Being open to learning and understanding, whether in a spiritual or secular sense, is a hallmark of humility and a milepost on the road to maturity.
"Do not be so open-minded that your brains fall out.”
― G.K. Chesterton
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. "
