Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. QUOTE: Russia collusion bombshell: DNC lawyers met with FBI on dossier before surveillance warrant Of course they did. The DNC was involved in funding the Steele Dossier. QUOTE: It means the FBI had good reason to suspect the dossier was connected to the DNC’s main law firm and was the product of a Democratic opposition-research effort to defeat Trump — yet failed to disclose that information to the FISA court in October 2016, when the bureau applied for a FISA warrant to surveil Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. That is incorrect. The purpose of the dossier was disclosed. “The FBI speculates that the identified US person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit Candidate #1’s {Trump's} campaign." Nice of you to admit what we have speculated, the DNC, the FISA Court, Hillary Clinton, and the FBI all conspired with Russia, to defeat a political candidate (Trump).
Hey, it's just a job interview for the FBI, no presumption of innocence. Hang 'em out.
Texan99: Hey, it's just a job interview for the FBI, no presumption of innocence.
? It takes reasonable suspicion to initiate an investigation. It takes probable cause to get a warrant. Investigations are typically kept secret to protect the innocent, as well as to protect sources and methods. Demonstrably wrong given recent events.
What's it like to be wrong?

So why did we repeated your verbiage? Because it shows the vacuity of that sort of 'argument'. It's a fallacy of diversion of a diversion that doesn't bother to address the issue of the thread, the surveillance warrant.

B. Hammer: Nice of you to admit what we have speculated, the DNC, the FISA Court, Hillary Clinton, and the FBI all conspired with Russia, to defeat a political candidate (Trump).
There's nothing in that comment that suggests that the DNC or Clinton conspired with the Russian government. In fact, Russian government agents hacked the DNC, then timed the release of the stolen information to maximize the damage to Clinton's campaign. The hack also gave them access to millions of dollars of voter research that could be used to target advertising. Russian government state media made clear that they supported Trump in the election. Oh. You have a big quote thingy there..."yet failed to disclose that information to the FISA" Then you go on to say that that is incorrect, "The purpose of the dossier was disclosed."
See my confusion? That lead me to believe that the FBI did tell the FISA court that, hey, hear is the dossier, that the DNC, with Hillary's approval, and plenty of help from our paid agents, along with the help of MI6, paid the Russians to dig up dirt on Trump. And we need to spy on the Trump campaign. You FISA people, being part of the Deep State, can surely see, what a colossal problem the election of Trump would be to all our welfare. Of course we see that, says the FISA court! Spy away. That man must be stopped. Hillary must be elected, at all costs. B. Hammer: That lead me to believe that the FBI did tell the FISA court that, hey, hear is the dossier, that the DNC, with Hillary's approval, and plenty of help from our paid agents, along with the help of MI6, paid the Russians to dig up dirt on Trump.
While the DNC did commission the dossier, picking up where Republican political operatives left off, there is no evidence that the information was provided by Russian government agents. In fact, the information cut against Russian government goals. There was probable cause that Carter Page was working, wittingly or unwittingly, as a Russian agent. As such, he was subject to surveillance.

It's not new information. The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative website, has said they funded opposition research against Trump through Fusion GPS. Attorney Mark Elias separately hired Fusion GPS in April 2016 on behalf of the DNC. We can look at Russian government actions. The Russian government is a murderous kleptocracy. They have engaged in cyberwarfare against open democracies for a number of years. More specifically, Russian government agents hacked the DNC, then released the information to sow confusion in the electorate and to damage Clinton. Or you could just watch Russian state TV. They were explicit in their support of Trump, and their hatred of Clinton.

QUOTE: In the NAFTA Deal, Trump Got What Democrats Couldn’t - Critics are panning the president’s new trade deal with Canada and Mexico as a minor update. They’re wrong—it’s a significant accomplishment. In the scheme of things it's not particularly significant. The vast majority of NAFTA remains intact, and some of the provisions were already available to the U.S. as part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The new deal has a number of protectionist measures, which generally tend to lead to less economic efficiency and higher prices for consumers, but may offer some help to workers in certain industries. On the other hand, it signaled to the world that the U.S. is no longer willing to treat as equal partners, but expects other countries to bend to its will. This may generate a long-term political dynamic in countries whose people are averse to being pushed around by what they may view as a big bully. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/man-who-roundhouse-kicked-pro-life-woman-identified-gets-fired
Thanks for the link Texan99.
Saw that story yesterday. Good to know the little coward got his just deserts. I found it surprising that he had been working at a hair salon. One would assume that a male who works in a female-dominated workplace would be less likely to be violent towards women. So much for assumptions.
He isn't the first to be fired for "activism" that violated others' rights. Kino Jimenez lost his job and got arrested after stealing a MAGA hat from a San Antonio teen and throwing ice water in his face. In both instances, videos of the incidents- videos that went viral- were why they were fired so quickly. But apparently there were no further consequences for Kellye Burke, the West University Place city council member, who considered it her civic duty to yell at a teen who wore a MAGA hat. Some would say, that's just how an Aggies acts- at least Teasippers would say so. But she had to pay some attorney fees for consultation, so there was at least one consequence. A great public service would be if FOX would become as publicly available as CNN. How do we get to a point where when we walk into an airport we might just get to see FOX as well as CNN?
I don't have cable tv--cut the cord years ago. I do have the basics CBS, NBC, PBS--why the heck can't I get FOX? You want to turn this country around--you want to make conservatives feel better about their beliefs then make THEIR TV station easily accessible--It is that simple. I can't even get FOX on my computer! In this case Greed may be a strategy that is working against us. My DH (liberal) NEVER has to hear the other side's argument, because we can't get it in the house! Just saying Most of these stories/links are related. The UN out of bias going against the U.S. The FBI out of bias going against the Republicans and the U.S. The Democrats because of bias trying to "Bork" Kavanaugh" and the U.S. The Democrats lying to the FBI and the U.S. voters. It is all a broad ongoing conspiracy to steal power from Americans; to steal the country. Do you believe it yet? Do you see the trend and the signs? If not, keep watching...
Interesting photo, BD. I would really like to see the documentation on the commentary. How did the photographer know that the cub and her “mom” were “tired” from searching for a waterhole? Did he or she then trail the elephant for the next two miles? What if the elephant was merely looking for a convenient flat rock on which to place the cub and crush it to death? Don’t mean to by cynical, but I am always skeptical of what we animal lovers (I certainly am one) are eager to impute to our furred, finned and feathered friends. I hope the story attached to the photo is true, but would love more detail. Be sure to check the floor just below your transom.

Re: the piece describing the hoax articles. It reads,
Having been immersed in a couple of big universities lately, I can tell you that if you get a couple of drinks, or a shot of truth serum, into the average liberal professor in any traditional academic social science department, and some of the humanities, he will confess that he knows the “scholarship” of the various politicized identity politics programs are a farce. They do not take it seriously, and regard it all with benign neglect at best, but silent contempt most of the time. ...Most of the radicalized faculty in these politicized departments know this, and it fuels their righteous anger and feeds their self-imposed sense of oppression. So, even this author misses his own point- these faculty are using their own lies to fuel their hatred toward others. They get a dopamine and adrenaline hit when they encounter the academic farce of their peers, and use it to propagate more academic farce. They're addicted to the feeling of oppression, so seek it out and stoke it even as they claim to oppose it. Well, yeah. If the problem goes away, so does their career.
And that wouldn't make me feel sad at all... Want to say thank you to the folks here at MF for the link to this article -
"How the Radicals Became the Technocrats: the true legacy 0f 1968" https://www.commentarymagazine.com/articles/radicals-became-technocrats/ It's a fantastic piece of historical analysis, and since I don't read Commentary magazine I would never have found it otherwise. Am now sharing it with my friend who wrote part of his dissertation on Marcuse. Thanks again for pointing me towards such an interesting piece of writing. I so agree, JM01, and have shared the article with many. Nice catch, MF!
Skyscraper Apts. at $57M? Them folks is nuts. And apparently NOT a Trump property.
Ted Koppel: Trump hate PAYS. Oberlin and anti-Semitism: Why am I not surprised? Even Joe Scarborough says media carried out biased hit job on Kavanaugh: What? He didn't know the media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dem Party? The Senate Judiciary Horror Picture Show: We have seen the enemy, and they are ghouls. (YMMV) So we now know from the FBI report the whole Democrat and leftist media attack was fabricated with no actual evidence to support it. Can you imagine how innocent people in this country are now being targeted by the Rats with false witnesses and fake documentation alleging drunkenness and sex crimes and on and on and on. First we started with the Tea Party groups being targeted by Obama's IRS. Then we have the Fake Russian Collusion against Trump and his supporters. And now we have this.
I remember as a child after reading about the witch trials, wondering how the Salem witch trials could have ever happened. Were people stupid back then or more gullible? But watching all of this it is clear to me that there a certainly some people who will lie for personal gain or attention and some people who will willingly use liars if it feeds their agenda. What we are seeing is witch trials 2.0. Who is next?
It is actually beginning to get rather frightening isn't it? My sons used to say we were paranoid about what was happening in the United States. They no longer say that, they have joined us in our belief that people need to be prepared for what may be coming.
The Communist Control Act needs to be amended to add the Democrat Party. I think that's is where this is going to come out. Or they will win and we will be in a leftist totalitarian state.
