We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Forty years ago I was powerless to prevent the needless death of my unborn son. I was merely the child's father. Seems the Canadians have now relegated mothers to the same disposable parent category as fathers. Forgive me for not getting all teary-eyed at this natural progression of depravity. What the hell did you think was going to happen?
Progressives are simply pagans, evil, still offering child sacrifices to Moloch.
Alas, DBP is a reality in Canada. It doesn't surprise me that the fanatic wing in "healthcare" is now investigating other avenues to bump off the "surplus population" and those deemed "unfit to live". It's discomforting that this "research" emanated from an organization associated with Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children ("Sick Kids", as they call it).
A sidebar however: Americans tend to talk about the Canadian healthcare as if it were a monolith. It is not. In fact, there is no Canadian equivalent to the UK NHS: healthcare is a provincial responsibility - so effectively there are 10 separate healthcare systems (plus three more indirectly administered by the Federal Government for the territories).
The policies and procedures for these systems do vary by province.
DBP - death by physician. That's the term I've invented to call the euphemistic medically-assisted dying a spade.
