We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think Trump should have done this a long time ago when it became clear that the DOJ, FBI, CIA, etc. failed to answer House and Senate committees' subpoenas.
He should have call Sessions into the office and given him a deadline for the production subpoenaed documents. If the deadline is passed, he is fired and calls Rosenstein into his office and tells him just what he told Sessions. If that deadline is passed, he is fired and the next one down the org chart is called into the office. Rinse and repeat till the documents are released.
I hope he executes a similar strategy if there is any push back.
Top Congressional Democrats Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff and Mark Warner penned a joint letter to ODNI Director Dan Coates, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding that the agencies defy President Trump.
I've been watching the clip of Hillary on MSNBC (I think) where she's "warning" people that Trump's liable to start firing people in his administration who he thinks are not loyal to him or are undermining him and this is something that needs to be resisted. The incredible thing to me is that she seems to take it for granted that of course this is something we should all find horribly appalling, the nerve of Trump firing people in his administration who don't agree with his policies and are actively working against him! I'm assuming that this is what she calls Trump's "divisiveness" and "threat to democracy", that he intends to govern as if he were in charge of the executive branch rather than that the executive branch is in charge of him. How authoritarian of the boss to order the people who work for him to do what he tells them to do!
Increase the sensitivity of your sarcasm meter. I was saying that the pot was claiming the kettle is black. Perhaps you recall the actions of the First Lady at the beginning of the Clinton administration re: White House Travel Office?
