With the way the Republicans have (not) responded to the violence of groups like ANTIFA and BLM I surely can see things getting far worse. So many people still believe all the lies the leftist media tells nightly. It is worrisome. Becoming a third world $hit hole is not what we had hoped for for our children and grandchildren. Come on Republicans fight for a change!

David, I’m surprised this didn’t elicit a response from the Zachborg. I guess they are to busy defending Obama and black unemployment. Plus, they probably don’t have a handy graph to display. I wish I had a graph of all the dead people linked to the Clinton cartel. Last I looked, it was north of fifty. Be careful out there.

Even if Chelsea only has the limited brainpower and ethics-impairment of a Ted Kennedy, the zakborg funders and ongoing clinton crime foundation can get her elected senator from somewhere.

That is one reason it is important to investigate the pay-for-play foundation bribes (eg, 140 million for uranium one, 25 million from Morocco, Marc Rich pardon, etc) and shut it down.

I think we all know why ethanol won't go away. $20 billion a year is paid out in farm subsidies. From the link: "About 39 percent of the nation's 2.1 million farms receive subsidies, with the lion's share of the handouts going to the largest producers of corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, and rice."

Occasionally I fill my tank with "off-brand" gas on road trips through counties far from big cities where the gas "blend" is not so controlled by the crazy EPA regulations. Instead of 29-31 miles per gallon on the highway with the ethanol-gas mixture, I suddenly get up to 38, 39 miles per gallon. With a caalytic converter, I doubt there is more "pollution". The xtra fuel saved - up to 25 percent !!! with higher mpg more than offsets any benefit (if any at all) from having subsidized ethanol oxygenate in the gas.

Big scam. plenty of payoffs (eg, civic-minded "donations") to crooked congresscritters.

It's probably a statistical artifact due to the small sample size. Larger samples, such as collected by the U.S. census, indicate strong growth in black-owned businesses since the end of the Great Recession, but nowhere near 400% annually.

Here are some more graphs for you. I’m very interested in the second graph Cass Freight Index, Shipments. Lots of deficits during the Oboma, peace be upon him, years. Notice the negative years, 2015 - 17’? Why would shipping, of bulk commodities, suddenly jump starting in 2017? Why would shipping be so flatlined, during the Obama years? Why now, in 2018, is there a nine month wait to buy a new big rig tractor?

Do you have a shipping expert in your group? Huddle up now. I look forward to explanations. I just know in my heart of hearts, that this roaring economy, is the wonderful work of the Light Bringer. He promised.

That's to be expected as the economy nears full capacity. The Cass Freight Index, Expenditures is outpacing Shipments, meaning there is tightness in modes of freight transportation. So far, though, this hasn't been an inhibiting factor.

It does look like the shipping industry is at capacity. Nine months for a new truck, could be prohibiteding new players to inter the market. It could be that perhaps another black entrepreneur, is being prohibited, by market forces, from interning the shipping industry. Luckily the market will adjust. More magic wand goodness!

Largely because of the sustained growth in real GDP.

Perhaps the better question is why there was a "transportation recession" in 2015-2016. According to a Cass report, whom you cited, the primary causes were cyclical and external; a slowdown in the global economy, resulting high inventory levels, and poor exports due to the strength of the dollar and weakening global demand.

Markets will adjust, however, transportation investment are costly and have a long lag, and the cyclical nature of the industry tends to a trade-off between having too much and too little capacity.

I owned a Lincoln Continental that had a MPG calculator. When they started putting ethanol in the gas my MPG decreased by over 10%. When I had the car into the dealer for service, I complained that something was wrong with the car because the MPG suddenly decreased. The mechanic told me they had lots of complaints about that, but there was nothing wrong with the car, it was the ethanol causing the problem. I always wondered how ethanol reduced pollution when you had to use more gasoline because of the ethanol.

Gender as a construct: let's say the average woman is 5'6" or under, and the average man is 5'6" or over. (I know, I made the numbers up.) There are several kinds of dumb mistakes to make about this. One would be to pretend that the average man isn't taller than the average woman, or to pretend that gender has nothing to do with it. Another would be to conclude that men must do 100% of something or other, unrelated to height, because men and women are different. Another would be to insist that the woman standing in front of you must not be 5'9" after you've measured her. Another would be to say someone is not a "real" man because he's 5'5". Another would be to say that medical research should restrict itself either to sub-5'6" people or to super-5'6" people, even after you learn that this skews results on medical problems of interest to the population in general, or even to half of it.

It doesn't have to be as hard as we make it.

That conflates sex and gender. Gender in this context refers to the "behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex". For instance, someone may be of the male sex, but exhibit behaviors or psychological traits typically associated with females.

I use the terms "sex" and "gender" more or less interchangeably, as do most people who aren't spoiling for a fight on the subject. If that's imprecise, sue me. I'm uninterested in the relatively recent dustup over whether it's a verbal habit that betrays a thought crime.

There's more than one sense of the word 'gender', and in some cases is a synonym for sex, but if you want to understand what people are talking about, then knowing how words are being used can be important to avoid confusion. The use of the word 'gender' to refer to the traditional social roles of men and women dates to the mid-twentieth century, so it's not exactly new.

Behaviors are physical. Gender expression (such as wearing a dress) is a behavior. Social opprobrium and praise, which is how society maintains gender norms, is a behavior. On the other hand, expectations are mental. How one views oneself in terms of gender is likewise mental, though there are known physical reasons for how these mental states sometimes occur (such as hormones).

If you are using the term "physical" and "non-physical" to denote real and not real, then we would point out that laws are not real in the sense you are using them. Laws regulate behavior, just as social norms regulate behavior.
