We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Fine, Jeff, but your job is running Justice including the FBI. Or maybe not.

"Lock her up!" — Jeff Sessions, Attorney General of the United States
Aggie: Please provide a link to the story with video.
"Lock her up."
This little kerfuffle is infantile even for the left.
Let me know when Sessions secretly meets with the spouse of someone his department is investigating and I'll condemn him and call for his dismissal.
SK: This little kerfuffle is infantile
Perhaps, but he is the Attorney General, so his words do have impact. Joining a chant for using the organs of government for political retribution degrades his office, and threatens the equitable course of justice. If he has a prosecutable charge, he should bring it.
That is the precise point--he didn't join the chant at this gathering of high schoolers, and it is infantile to pretend that he did when you know damned well that he did not.
sk: That is the precise point--he didn't join the chant
We quoted him correctly. He said "Lock her up," echoing what others were chanting.
You're being typically dishonest.
He didn't chant it. When he recognized what they were chanting, he said "Lock her up," in recognition, and then said, "I heard that for a long time during the campaign," and then went back to his speech.
This is why you can't be taken seriously.
Hank_M: hen he recognized what they were chanting, he said "Lock her up," in recognition,
That's right. It sounded like it was bringing back fond memories. Are you claiming he was not expressing agreement with the sentiment?
Sessions didn't "join in" nor "chant".
Once again kiddiez y'all are full of shit.
"That's right. It sounded like it was bringing back fond memories. Are you claiming he was not expressing agreement with the sentiment?"
You're too stupid to realize if Sessions was doing as you say, he'd be .... um, actually locking her up.
This is why people don't take you seriously. The left is screeching about Sessions joining a chant when it's quite clear he didn't. And when that's pointed out, you don't admit it but instead move the goal posts.
Because you WANT it to be true.
jimg: You're too stupid to realize if Sessions was doing as you say, he'd be .... um, actually locking her up.
It's a political slogan, one which erodes the culture. However, we agree that if he had sufficient evidence, he would and should "lock her up".
You're being mendacious and you know it. And that's the bad part--you know it and you do it anyway.
SK: You're being mendacious and you know it.
Handwaving. We quoted Sessions accurately.
Zak, yes, we agree again !!!! There are prosecutable charges, which he should bring. Sessions surely has access to the Weiner laptop which illegally has Hillary and Obama classified material, and the 30 thousand "Yoga" emails that were destroyed while under subpoena on Hillary's private unsecure server that are now known to the Inspector General have been hacked to a country-not-russia. And the bribery scheme for $140 million to sell uranium to the Russians. $140 MILLIONAnd the Clinton Foundation scam. And the PerkinsCoie-Fusion scheme with the Obama FBI to defraud the FISA Court. (do you remember hillary's evil abuse of the FBI to harass the White house Travel Agents, to scheme her friends into the job? And her statistically-impossible scheme to get bribes by after-hours switching of commodities trades?) Lots of things to prosecute....
jaybird: There are prosecutable charges, which he should bring.
There's no public evidence of criminal behavior, but if Sessions has the evidence, he should certainly bring charges. Until he does, as the nation's chief law enforcement officer, he should remain silent on the subject.
No public evidence?
Intentional mishandling of classified info, destruction of evidence are a couple that anyone else doing what she did would have been charged with.
But what's the point. You don't care what she did.
SK: Intentional mishandling of classified info
The FBI could not find sufficient evidence that Clinton intentionally mishandled classified information. That's why they didn't bring charges.
SK: But what's the point. You don't care what she did.
Quite the contrary. If it can be shown she broke the law, she should be held to account. We also care about political propaganda in the guise of criminal accusations, as in "Lock her up!"
Thank you - and that is why they call it Fake News. See you in November~!
If the press wants to stop being accused of purveying fake news, they should stop purveying fake news.
CNN Online has become so much like The Onion that The Onion itself is no longer necessary.
As you imply, this is the very sort of thing that will get Trump re-elected if he chooses to run.
Aggie: that is why they call it Fake News.
We quoted Sessions accurately. Apparently what you call "fake news" is things you don't want to acknowledge.
I never said otherwise. Or did you misinterpret what I said to form your own misguided conclusions, and, in a snarky way, score a point? Maybe should you practice your observation skills, and.... See you in November~!
Aggie: I never said otherwise.
Then we are in agreement.
Sessions said, "Lock her up," echoing the crowd's chants.
Guess you haven't been paying attention. Sessions busy as can be. Additional charges filed against NXIVM cult today...big donors to Clinton Global Initiative and to HRC campaign were implicated. Also the new about Glencore from a few weeks' back - connected to Marc Rich. And the Manafort case looking more and more like Democrat swamp case than anything.
But, sure, Sessions is doing 'nothing.'
Filed charges against Big Donors eh?
Well . . . that's what the Government is good at, prosecuting private citizens.
But as for prosecuting his comrades in the bureaucracy . . . well . . . not so much. He seems reluctant/unwilling/unable to do that. And if Sessions wants to see that we retain the rule of law and not the rule of men, prosecuting Government wrong doers should be his top priority.
Hopefully Sessions is playing possum and will unleash thunderbolts and indictments when Trump gives him the word.
Not sure how those two things are mutually exclusive. Anyone who is watching with half an eye can see that most colleges are turning out whiny snowflakes.
As the paid Soros trolls said in this thread earlier, Sessions clearly knows that Hillary should be locked up. My guess is that he is working as fast as he can to see that justice is done.
Dangerous Dean: Anyone who is watching with half an eye can see that most colleges are turning out whiny snowflakes.
That's true. For instance, conservative snowflakes exploded when Coca-Cola put out an ad that showed “America the Beautiful” being sung in several different languages. Or the time a mixed race family was shown in a Cheerios ad. Then there was the time a black man got elected president.
You make Dangerous' point. Conservatives complained, were outraged, etc. They did not demand for a safe space with milk and cookies; puppies; and coloring books or stage a cry-in.
or assault people to prevent public speaking at invited fora, or try to burn down their university, or yell and scream at discussions, on seek "some muscle" to attack a reporter covering their violent activities, .....
mudbug: They did not demand for a safe space with milk and cookies; puppies; and coloring books or stage a cry-in.
Actually, they wanted the Coca-Cola and Cheerios ads removed, and said the first black U.S. president wasn't really president because he was not a real American. Bunch of snowflakes.
Are the kiddiez getting triggered or what?
Figure you haven't been focusing. Sessions occupied as anyone might imagine. Extra charges documented against NXIVM faction today...big givers to Clinton Global Initiative and to HRC crusade were embroiled. Likewise the new about Glencore from fourteen days' back - associated with Marc Rich. Also, the Manafort case looking increasingly like Democrat overwhelm case than anything.
Mr. Sessions reminds me of my cat. Nevah know what's happ'ning. Dang it.
