Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

And Trump is Hitler, of course. As Tucker says, nobody seems to care about the American kids whose parents are in jail. Related, BORDER CHILDREN: A PR DISASTER? From reading all about the topic, I learned that every border-crosser is now an asylum applicant. Who knew?

QUOTE: As a student of history, let me tell you what a Hitler-like Nazi-like President of the United States would have done these past 500 days: He would have had Chuck Schumer put into a concentration camp. He would have had medical experiments done on Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters. He would have had Robert Mueller and his entire investigatory team murdered in the middle of the night, the same night, with long knives. Lisa Payne and Peter Strzok would be in concentration camps now, working twenty-hour days for the Bayer Aspirin or Ford Motor companies, businesses who in the 1940s got rich off Nazi-provided slave labor. Jeff Sessions would have been fired. Writers at the Washington Post and New York Times would be dead or in concentration camps. Instead of wrangling with Jeff Bezos, the Government would now own Amazon. And CNN. And Time-Warner. Several or all of the four Democrat Supreme Court justices would be in concentration camps or dead. Not only would ten million illegals have been rounded up by now, but they would not necessarily have been deported because they, too, would be in cattle cars now, en route to concentration camps, gas chambers, and ovens for the Final Solution of the border issue. There would be no haggling and negotiating for votes in the House or Senate; rather, the Congress would have been disbanded, the Constitution suspended, and we now would be invading Mexico instead of negotiating over NAFTA and steel and aluminum tariffs. And — for snarky extreme-right conservatives who might be mumbling “Hmmm, not so bad” — many of those snarky conservatives, too, now would be dead or en route to ovens because their neighbors may have ratted them out in order to grab their houses after their arrests. And, yes, their kids also would be dead. http://americandigest.org/wp/tweet-talk/#more-7003 QUOTE: TUCKER EXPOSES ‘RULING CLASS’ BEHIND BORDER POLICY UPROAR: ‘THEIR GOAL IS TO CHANGE YOUR COUNTRY FOREVER’ Yeah. Next thing you know, they'll be letting in the Irish Papists Chinese Norwegians Italians Jews Tevye Japanese Muslims Africans Vietnamese Poles Gypsies Mexicans Guatemalans. Then where will the U.S. be? The News Junkie: And Trump is Hitler No. Hitler is Hitler. Yep, even Planned Parenthold claims to be against separating children from their parents.
Wasn't that big of a deal when the Obama administrstion did it for eight years, now was it? Why all the whining now? Wait, don't answer that, kiddez. For once I agree with Zach. Do not separate these poor children from their parents. Deport them within 24 hours no exceptions and no appeal to the court system. MAGA
Anon: Deport them within 24 hours no exceptions and no appeal to the court system.
That would not be legal under U.S. or international law. We are in an emergency. Declare a national emergency and until congress can catch up do what must be done. We are losing our country. We would be better off in a shooting war than this silent invasion.
OneGuy: Declare a national emergency and until congress can catch up do what must be done.
So much for the shibboleth that conservatives all want limited government.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
This is an invasion. Millions of people come across the border undocumented every year. We do not know if they are mere "immigrants" here for the free stuff or intend us harm. This massive immigration push over the last 20-30 years is intentional and controlled by those who would do us harm. This will not and cannot end well. When the piggy bank is empty and real citizens are suffering to pay for illegals and our economy is fubar the people will revolt. A good government looks out for the safety of it's citizens NOT the welfare of other countries citizens. Congress is inept and likely crooked and will not fix the problem. The president could by declaring a national emergency use emergency powers to restore law and order and deport the millions here illegally.

OneGuy: The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
That is correct. We just wanted to point out the shibboleth that all conservatives, by definition, want limited government. You are an example of a "conservative" advocating for declaring a national emergency to justify unbridled government power. Now that we're clear on that... OneGuy: This massive immigration push over the last 20-30 years Actually, current immigration is not unprecedented.

"Irish Papists Chinese Norwegians Italians Jews Tevye Japanese Muslims Africans Vietnamese Poles Gypsies Mexicans".
Does this mean you're falling into line with the rest of us here, in favor and support of legal, methodical, regulated immigration? Welcome home - Where will we be then? In a country that is a little closer to actually observing the rule of its laws and the will of its citizens. Uncle Saul's rules depend on the enemy remaining nice guys who would rather die than be thought of badly.
With the election of Donald Trump, that dream has sailed. We are not nice guys. We are not ladies and gentlemen. We are Americans fighting for our country. And drowningpuppies' quote pretty much nails it. Somewhere there is a bottomless pit of ankle biters and butt sniffers. They wear you down; it's like who they are, tedious Soap Opera women, activists, and faux journalists. The question is, when immigrants blatantly game the system, does the MAUDLIN MELODRAMA resonate with Middle America? I think it is kinda like crying wolf, 24/7.
BORDER CHILDREN
The current law in place that is promoting the liberal tantrum was passed in 2008 by the 110th Congress. The title of the bill is "H.R.7311 - William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008." The bill passed in the Senate on 12/10/2008 by "unanimous consent" and passed in the House on the same day "without objection." https://www.congress.gov/bill/110th-congress/house-bill/7311/all-actions?overview=closed#tabs … Aaannnd here are a few notable members from the cast of relevant characters who voted for the bill and passed it into law: Representatives that allowed its passage: AZ: Jeff Flake. CA: Adam Schiff, Xavier Becerra, Brad Sherman, and Maxine Waters. CT: Chris Murphy. FL: Corine Brown, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. GA: John Lewis. IL: Jesse L Jackson, Jr. MA: John Conyers. MN: Keith Ellison. NY: Jerrold Nadler, Anthony Weiner, Charles Rangel, Kirsten Gillibrand, Louise Slaughter. OH: Dennis Kucinich. TX: Al Green, Sheila Jackson Lee. That's the important Representatives to remember. Senators on the list: CA: Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer. DE: Joe Biden. FL: Bill Nelson. IL: Dick Durbin. MO: Claire McCaskill. NV: Harry Reid. NY: Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton. VT: Patrick Leahy, Bernie Sanders. Well, Well, Well. Aggie: The current law in place that is promoting the liberal tantrum was passed in 2008 by the 110th Congress.
And signed by George Bush. Read the title again. It's purpose is to protect victims of human trafficking, not to further victimize them. Previous administrations did not use to the law to separate children from their parents. ...and now they're enforcing this law once again, and once more the children are being protected from trafficking, as you note, thanks!
Oh! The Horror! Laws being enforced! What other horrors will come next? I note that none of the politicians who prepared the legislation and affixed their signatures to it in 2008 seem motivated by conscience to amend the laws to make them better and correct the perceived problem. Bush is no longer available to sign anything, but most of these characters still hold office, and crafting legislation is their job. I guess their motivations are elsewhere.......What do we pay them for again? Aggie: ...and now they're enforcing this law once again, and once more the children are being protected from trafficking
Taking children from their parents is not protecting the children. By the way, the provision of the statute cited by Sessions for the change in policy dates to 1952.
Well......it sounds to me like we're really, really close on this one, Zack.
1. We both agree that we want legal, methodical, and regulated immigration to be the way that foreigners enter the country. 2. We both agree that the function of the DOJ, ICE, and Homeland Security is to enforce the laws on the books, in pursuit of #1 above and also in defense of the USA's borders and with the interests of its citizens as a priority. 3. We both agree that the function of Congress is to craft legislation that is principled, humane and effective. And if/when legislation is found wanting, then it's Congress' job to prioritize amending legislation to correct any problems. This seems like a huge priority, given all the shrieking and angst, so it shouldn't be long before we see results. Once they get started. Have you written your Congressmen? Aggie: 1. We both agree that we want legal, methodical, and regulated immigration to be the way that foreigners enter the country.
That is correct. Just laws are essential to a just society. Aggie: 2. We both agree that the function of the DOJ, ICE, and Homeland Security is to enforce the laws on the books, in pursuit of #1 above and also in defense of the USA's borders and with the interests of its citizens as a priority. The interests of U.S. citizens includes humanitarian concerns. Immigration law gives some discretion to the executive, including not requiring that parents be separated from their children. Aggie: 3. We both agree that the function of Congress is to craft legislation that is principled, humane and effective. "What do I think of Western civilization? I think it would be a very good idea." - Mahatma Gandhi Aggie: And if/when legislation is found wanting, then it's Congress' job to prioritize amending legislation to correct any problems. Reform of immigration should occur, but the separation of parents and children is a policy decision of the Trump Administration, and can be ended just the way it started, with a policy change by the Trump Administration. "So now we're supposed to be running around with our hair on fire because of immigration policy that was put into place in 2008 that nobody in the MSM cared about until late last week? Seriously? I think the only reasonable response to all of these bozos with their fake news and fake outrage is 'Look, no matter what you say or do, your preferred candidate lost the election. And she will never be president. Not ever. Get over it, and get on with your life.' That's it. That's all you should have to say."
