We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Schadenfreude, oh Schadenfreude....
Trump was not my first choice, but as I increasingly saw that his enemies in the media and elsewhere were people I had already decided were my enemies, I gradually decided that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Many or most of the media believes that Trump's denouncement of the media is the main reason for dislike of the media, but Trump merely had the political smarts to take advantage of an already existing widespread dislike of the media.
You can trust someone until their lies are exposed. Blatantly, flagrantly exposed.
And after their lies have been laid bare, after the opinions that were supposed to be infallible are shown to be worthless, after they support politicians who are complete idiots arrogantly showing just how out of touch they are with their constituents, aafter they've been shown time and time again to conceal information 'for our own good' and to manipulate the narrative to further an agenda (see the 'Gentle Giant' in Ferguson) - why in heaven's name would you trust them to report ANYTHING straight?
You've got a better chance of getting a straight line out of an octopus mating with a corkscrew. It just isn't going to happen.
