The labor market has been tightening for several years, which has been reflected in the rise in median incomes. The labor market is now very tight, which should lead to continued improvement for workers. That is, if the current administration can avoid several possible dangers to the economy, such as a trade war. The current economic expansion, now the second longest on record after the Clinton expansion, began in June 2009, the first year of Obama's term. The following is a public Farm announcement.
Re: ^ and v, The Clattering Site Robot(s) has been touting the recovery that began almost ten years ago as Little Baraq's work. Normal human people persons know Little Baraq had nothing to do with it anymore than he ran either Congress, the Fed, or central banking. It was and is the inevitable result of clearing many billions in cross-linked boom dollars, a temporary reprieve on the path to yet more monetary expansionism and bubbles. The Clattering Site Robot(s) is/are apparently unaware of the inverse relationship between debt and solvency; between markets and cycles. Normal human people persons are also aware that the rise in markets is tied quite directly to QE and thus directly to monetary expansion. And lastly, normal human people persons grasp that the bad trade policy enabled by horrible abuses of the US reserve dollar through at least the last two dozen years takes much to correct - if it even is correctable - and even longer to pay the debts of. In order for the Clattering Site Robot(s) to have any pertinence - not something it's been noted for although it's diversionary talents are unquestioned - its(s) programmers would have to install a Central Fiat Fractional Reserve Module as well as a Too Big To Fail Unit, something they in their evident political bias seem hesitant to do. Stimulus spending likely never reached the thing(s) China Sea island. Until then the thing(s) will probably rattle on about what it(s) sees as the pivotal year 2009. It was no such thing, except to initiate QE and either directly or indirectly heap trillions onto the debt which recorrupted markets and destroyed price discovery, among other fundamentals. This has been a public Farm announcement. As a demonstration of the Clattering Site Robot(s) incapacity to mine data independently of its programmers, allow me to leave this resource here. One of many like it, it actually impugns the rightist congress and the generally despicable GOP for its reckless ongoing run of capitalism, yet the CSR(s) will take no notice of it, leafing instead through its dim heaps for its worn, old routines aimed at bolstering an incompetent previous largely socialist Regiministration.
http://davidstockmanscontracorner.com/two-elephants-in-the-room-that-the-gop-has-completely-forgotten/ This demonstration is another free service brought to you by both Objectivity and Sanity, properties of Perspective and the normal human people person. The economy during Obama was the worst since the Great Depression. In fact some negative economic factors surpassed the Great Depression in terms of longevity. By far the worst president in history, by any measure.

Their little game of destabilizing the economy right prior to the presidential elections spiraled out of control and caused profound harm to this country for which they have not yet been held criminally liable. "Actually, Trump did see the numbers before he tweeted, revealing sensitive economic information, violating long-standing rules." Your statement is fake and a total lie. The Democrat Congress? Maybe you missed the link in the comment above yours.
Jim: Forbes: Obamanomics has produced the worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression
The financial meltdown was the worst since the Great Depression, and caused deep damage to the global banking system; consequently, it is to be expected that the recovery would be longer than from a typical recession. Jim: NY Post: Obama was terrible for economic growth GDP since 2008. Growth in 2009 was negative, but that was clearly due to the financial meltdown. Growth from 2010 through 2016 was over 2% per year. Jim: I thank Trump for bringing us out of the 9 year economic depression ... It wasn't a depression, but the second longest economic expansion in history (after the Clinton expansion). Jim: ... caused first by the Democrat Congress and then doubled down on by Obama. The Democrats didn't take control of Congress until 2007, when the market bubble was fully formed. Nor could they pass legislation without Republican support. Zachriel: Actually, Trump did see the numbers before he tweeted, revealing sensitive economic information, violating long-standing rules. Jim: Your statement is fake There are three factually correct claims: Trump did see the numbers, he revealed sensitive economic information, and he violated long-standing rules. QUOTE: Donald J. Stop making up shit and get back to your sandbox. Y'all really are stupid. That's a much better argument than the rather silly "The President can say it just because" one.
Was anybody with a pulse even surprised by the jobs numbers after two years of Trump? Since January 2017 virtually every economic report has come in with better numbers than predicted, and often with prior period estimates revised upwards, in sharp contrast to 2009-2016, when the difference from forecasts and the revisions were generally but 'unexpectedly' in the negative direction.

The current job numbers are unremarkable compared to the last several years.

---------------------------------------------- A big lie. Obama and the Democrat Congress used to do it (about which the leftist media and Obama apparatchiks now have total amnesia), and also did it to accelerate the collapse of the economy: https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-obama-and-the-jobs-report-1528137323 Jim: Obama and the Democrat Congress used to do it
Obama privately discussed the upcoming jobs report with Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader. Reid shared that information only after the news was publicly released. Nor is there any indication that Obama was sharing sensitive information rather than just relaying public estimates of job losses. Jim: “when we receive our monthly jobs report next week, it’s likely to show that we’re still continuing to lose far too many jobs.” And this quote clearly shows he is referring to public estimates of job losses, not the actual jobs report. If would behoove Trump to be more careful in his tweets in the future.

Zachbot, thank you for enthusiastically recommending everyone vote for Trump in 2020 because you believe he is continuing obama's policies (but more successfully than obama). Makes sense for you!!
For me, all Trump has to do is not be hillary, which he is doing very well. By the way, how could ex-FBI leadership be claiming obstruction of justice for firing lying Comey, when the FBI cleared the clintons of obstruction of justice for selling a pardon (at the last seconds before he left the White House) to felon Marc Rich? An actual pardon sale, for money before the pardon of a convicted felon !! Then, they later "showered [with] millions of dollars on the Clintons in the decade and a half following the scandal." https://nypost.com/2016/01/17/after-pardoning-criminal-marc-rich-clintons-made-millions-off-friends/ Zach, this is the only factual "GOLDEN SHOWERS" scandal - clinton obstruction of justice and corruption at the FBI.
jaybird: thank you for enthusiastically recommending everyone vote for Trump in 2020 because you believe he is continuing obama's policies (but more successfully than obama).
Trump is not extending Obama policies. However, there is substantial momentum in the economy. The corporate tax cuts would normally stimulate the economy, but the economy is already working near capacity. Some of the corporate tax cuts will fund investment, as well as attract foreign investment, leading to some productivity gains, but as they were funded through deficit spending, this will put pressure on interest rates. The biggest danger is a trade war, but that is certainly not inevitable. Most countries realize the dangers involved in that course of action. jaybird: For me, all Trump has to do is not be hillary ... Look! A squirrel! Zach, so you agree that the only "golden showers" scandal is the golden showers of $150 million showered on the clintons by the russians for selling US uranium to the russians. Thank you for your concession.
jaybird: ... "golden showers" ...
Argumentum ad sciurus.

"the United States is being torn apart by tribalism."
This by intent. Ted Kennedy and the Dems decided in the mid 60's to open the flood gates of immigration and replace the voters with people who could be bought and convinced to vote Democrat. I suppose if your only goal was political dominance it was a brilliant idea. However if you loved your country and wanted to see it survive another 200 years it was a stupid idea. But we already know that Ted Kennedy didn't put America and it's citizens first at all, neither did the rest of the Democrats. Today it is no secret that the Democrats prefer the immigrants to the citizens. The love the illegals and MS13 and want more refugees that YOU of course will pay for forever. The love H-1B workers to replace American workers. But, no worries, they still need you and will raise your taxes if elected to pay for all this free stuff. Costco: While the tax cuts help, the reality is WA minimum wage is going up. They had to do it just to keep from being a minimum wage employer.
I used to try to be at 1.5 to Federal min $7.25 ($12-15). Now WA is $11 going to $13, paying $17-18. There will not be any more or higher because it's now over the cost of robots. Plus the voters graciously decided we can afford a 2.5% raise for sick/family/personal time off (1 hour per 40 worked). I already was paying time off. The next step will be that a base pay will decline, in order to come out at the end of the year at the same gross rate. Last step will be a For Sale sign. Square dancing is white supremacy. Is there a special Square Dance section at Stormfront, or do you have to know how to find those discussions on the dark web?
Square Dancing...is why "they" call us white folks "squares". We all know that us common "white folks" don't do conspiracies.
Fight for $15--Unions shooting themselves in teh foot. Joy Reid: NO Joy for YOU! Should we scrap the education system? Probably not, but the nefarious unions that run it, need to go. K-12 work at destroying belief in liberty and its grandparent, western civilization.
The public k-12 education system can not be saved. Use the money thrown at public education, including its brick and mortar presence, to fund vouchers. University education can be fixed by getting rid of student loans. The need of students to convince bankers that their ____ studies program will pay back the student loan will take care of the problem.
I rather suspect that some of the early "improvement" in the employment numbers was the movement of those who timed out on unemployment and moved on to "disability". Government numbers have been unreliable for decades. Just check out the inflation index over time...the index is manipulated to control inflation indexed benefits made by the government. Well, except of course, benefits and pay to the political system. The Uniparty takes care of their own.
Looking forward = revealing sensitive economic information
You're a relatively intelligent person. But at times, you come across as a blatant, partisan jackass who has difficultly understanding basic English. jimg: Looking forward = revealing sensitive economic information
Markets correctly read it as Trump revealing that the report would be better than expected. Makes you wonder if he may have tipped off someone privately. |
