Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Saturday, May 26. 2018Trump as a force of nature“His advantage is he’s unencumbered by values and unencumbered by a conscience. It’s an enormous advantage when you’re willing to make the end justify the means always. He’s willing to do anything as we know including lie repeatedly. It’s very disarming literally If you’re up against that- it’s very hard for people because they’re scared of his emotion. They’re frightened by his emotion. They don’t recognize that he’s throwing them off their game. They don’t necessarily recognize that he’s pushing them into their own emotion as opposed to the capacity to think more reflectively and as a result they’re not coming forward with their best.” Tony Schwartz, co-author of “Art of the Deal”. "Back when Trump came down the escalator and started talking like Pat Buchanan, I recall thinking, “I can’t imagine a scenario where I vote for him, but I never imagined anyone saying these things again either.” Trump is turning out to be the most consequential president in our lifetime, which is not something any sane person could have imagined two years ago. I think we have to withhold judgement on him until these great events of this age unfold." Trump is the Honey Badger. That's why he was elected. He was not elected to be a role model:

Trump alwys seemed harmless to me. He threw sand into PC and the MSM narratives. A high level of skill.
That made it possible to talk about problems that it had been forbidden to talk about, which always struck me as the chief thing. He never struck me as emotional about anything. Insults are a word game, not personal. The surest guide to sanity is limiting what they might be capable of thinking, sanely, the un-insane of course.
Forget Buckley and his accomplishments, read Z boy the former democrat, he has things to say by Odin or Allah or Some Dingus. Not like the Catholic Buckley. “His advantage is he’s unencumbered by values and unencumbered by a conscience. It’s an enormous advantage when you’re willing to make the end justify the means always. Until he got to the "scare of his emotion" part I thought he was talking about Obama. But no one is scared of Obama, and his emotions are like the rest of him, calculated milquetoast. I don't trust anyone who practices Damning with faint praise. It is ironic to say "He’s willing to do anything as we know including lie repeatedly" and then lie repeatedly with more phony praising and disingenuine comments. Tony needs to take a good look in the mirror.
LOL
I guess 62 plus million voters preferred the impulsive, bombastic hyperbole of DJT to the sneaky, conniving deceit of HRC. Sigh, I think I have to credit Jordan Peterson for that observation. I don't know about anyone else, but the histrionics of DJT's critics are real turn off. Luckily for DJT they have no idea that they are perceived as lame to malignant by Middle America. And sometimes, they manage to sound like the guy, who is in his cups, at the end of the bar . Good point, Exasparated. He doesn't lie any more, or less, than any other politican I've ever listened to. At least he does it with some gusto and doesn't act like you're an idiot if you don't believe him.
And he keeps you entertained all the while. Right up there with the best of the old time pitchmen. Wherever he takes us, we'll have a smile on our face. Well, all but the vinegar drinking progs and their cable TV acolytes.
It’s better to keep your mouth shut than open it and remove all doubt. Wise words that went over the heads of our Deep State hierarchy and their toadies.
""A street fight between three men and a single fighter... ended when two men were knocked unconscious and the lone fighter fled before police arrived."
The Wisconsin State Journal reports on something that happened here in Madison (on State Street). The scrappy lone fighter is described as 5'8" or 5'9" and 145 pounds." commenter "Birkel said... You think That's crazy? I saw a man two years ago take on 17 opponents plus the entire mainstream press. And in that non-Royal Rumble the 70 year old beat all the youngsters and pretenders." FromtheAtlhouseBlog: I saw a man two years ago take on 17 opponents plus the entire mainstream press.

Another from an Althouse commenter:
Blogger Iowan2 said... President Trump is not a politician. That drives politicians insane. Name one action that has harmed the USA or violated the constitution. Obama legislated through regulation, ignored judicial orders, spied on political campaigns, and reporters. Entered into treaties without submitting the to congress, just to name a few. I do not believe I have ever read an analysis of Trump that included his main attractions, namely his appalling opponents.
From my little perch it seems to me that unless our leftist indoctrination centers known as our secular educational system are not dealt with immediately, no matter what President Trump accomplishes (if he completes two terms with Republicans in control of both the House and Senate), we will lose the country. Over the decades, the left has been quietly building an army of Marxist drones. The effects of it can be seen daily with so called journalists who over whelmingly populate the main stream media. And one wonders why the polarization is getting worse...Hillary, Obama and their leftist kind fear little because of the ever growing armies on the left...a mass of America hating individuals who haven’t a clue about the real world....Stalin, Mao, Hitler and others knew the importance and impact of the educational system upon the youth. We will not survive this unless this present day educational system is torn down and rebuilt from the ground up....
When you're in a pit filled with snakes, you don't care who hands you the stick.
They're all dirty.
Obama, Mueller, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Yates, Rosenstein, etc. And they would have gotten away with it. Thank God for Admiral Mike Rogers. Thank God for Donald Trump. https://www.themarketswork.com/2018/04/05/the-uncovering-mike-rogers-investigation-section-702-fisa-abuse-the-fbi/ |
