We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
They are desperate. Trump was never supposed to win and all of this was never supposed to see the light of day. They could face some serious jail time for their crimes we know of never mind whatever else will be exposed. This is their last desperate attempt to keep the Russia meme alive and give them some cover. It is falling apart before our eyes. The big question is will the Republicans be closers on this or the usual losers. I'm guessing it will be all sound and fury for another year or two and no one goes to trial or jail.
You'd think after perjuring himself that Clapper would shrink away hoping that people forgot about his crime. Instead, he's out basically daring the DOJ to come snatch him up and put his ass in jail. Could someone please accommodate him?
It's a signaling exercise. I said the same about Donna Brazile sending Hillary debate questions. The information itself had no actual value since the broad outlines of the questions were well known, and Hillary could be absolutely certain she was going to get softballs anyway. The act, however, showed Hillary and her team that Brazile was one of them and could be trusted to act on her behalf behind closed doors at CNN.
Same thing with all these guys publicly going on about Russia. They don't have to believe a word of what they're saying. The fact that they are wiling to spew this stuff and put themselves in danger of perjury and contempt is the signal they are still in on the deal. When they go dark is when you know things are changing.
