We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It's one thing for political campaigns to spy on each other. That's normal because politics is an ugly business. When government does it, it's criminal. I hope all of this evil deep state conspiracy comes to light, and that the people are held to account. Jail time.
I suspect the mole was Carter Page, but who knows? He had done odd jobs for the FBI in the past. This feels like CIA business, done on American soil.
If people believe that will be the penalty, they will draw back from investigating, proceeding, and prosecuting. Fair or not, the main thing needed is exposure. First things first. If we cannot get that, we have nothing.
"Another person of interest is Stefan Halper, a foreign policy expert and Cambridge professor who is connected to the CIA and its British counterpart, MI6.
Interestingly, The New York Post's Paul Sperry points out that Stefan Halper's Wikipedia page had been updated to include "He has been exposed as a CIA and M-16 spy behind the FBI Russiagate investigations of the Trump Campaign and is an informant to the Mueller Special Prosecutor investigation" - an addition which was quickly deleted."
The truth of the matter is the Brits don't think they lost the Revolutionary War and will collude with our leftists in any way conceivable to bring down Trump's presidency. Some might call this treason.
I read somewhere yesterday that Halper was a student at Oxford at the same time a certain Rhodes scholar Bill Clinton was also in attendance. It has been footnoted in a 2004 interview that Halper said he and Clinton had studied together there, during the period 1967-1974.
Attention seems to be centering on Halper. The thing that confuses me is that I can't understand is what sense he'd be considered a campaign insider and therefore a mole. It seems like he was buzzing around the edges of the campaign trying to entice people to listen to his Russia theories. More like an agent provacateur than a mole.
Obama et al have been using Any Means Necessary to achieve campaign and then policy objectives by undermining opponents. I’ll bet anything that similar tactics were used on other candidates just in case. They weren’t successful so there’s nothing to turn up about it. I don’t know why anyone is surprised that Justice assets were employed to take down or critically weaken the elected President. Who wasn’t the one they want. They just thought they wouldn’t be caught. I’m giving more money to Nunes tomorrow. He’s earned it.
We are falling into peril. Whichever happens (jail or skate), half the country will conclude the fedgovies have fallen into lawlessness.
I have a lawyerly acquaintance. When I expressed some concern that subpoena'ed and seized bank records have within the week been leaked to the press, he acted like it was a good and proper thing to do, exposing the doings of Trump's fixer. "But, but ..." I exclaimed. "Nah, it's all good, because Trump", he said.
Lord help us, altho I reckon we'll get no help from there.
