Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I listened to about 20 minutes of Trump's rally last night. He is an amusing talker, quite informal, and constantly going off-script. He called Gov. Brown "Governor Moonbeam." Since he had been up all night, I was impressed. He is bold. Honey Badger doesn't give a shit about the pearl-clutchers. What's happening in Hawaii is very sad for those losing their homes. However, when they start going all spiritual about it they lose me. Nothing is happening there that isn't common to most areas of the country or world. Hurricanes, tornados, landslides, floods, fires, avalanches, you name it and people are losing their homes to it every day, most with no warning at all. I suppose here in south Florida we should be discussing a hurricane god.
Like they didn't know they were buying property and building vacation rental homes on the slopes of Mauna Loa?
Kilauea's been pumping vog out for years. I was in Na'alehu and Puna in February on my twentieth trip to the B.I. Amazing how smart and otherwise savvy Islanders start with the Pele worship, every time it rains too hard or the trades change and Kona winds blow, or the earth breaks open. People, you live on a volcanic rock. It's beautiful. It's a volcano. Mythical goddess worship has nothing to do with it. Reference to Pele keeps them quaint and authentic. That does help bring in tourist dollars.
They need to remember the "don't take black sand" belief was established by tour bus drivers who got tired of cleaning sand and rocks out of their buses after the tourists decided they weren't going to take that souvenir, after all. For all the complaints about Trump - the man's got energy the likes of which I haven't seen in a LONG time. And like it or loathe it, he's getting results.
Pretty damn amazing, if you ask me. I NEVER thought I'd see the Korean War possibly end. Merkel, and all the other international relations pearl clutchers, is doing it wrong. Nations don't have or need friends. Nations have allies and enemies. Nations should act to protect and advance their interests. Trump knows this and focuses all his actions there. The usual suspects that prefer the international order of lovely conferences and fine food are put off balance by Trump. That is good for us and, ironically, them.
When you insert the word "pecking" into that headline, it all becomes clear.
Trump keeps his campaign promises. Which is another reason the GOPe hates him. Like their allies in the Democrat party, they love them some quasi Marxist rule. We are nothing but subjects to them. They loathe self rule. The idea that We the People are thier boss, is abhorrent to them. That goes triple for thier allies in the media. Those people look at you as disgusting little children that are to stupid to get out of bed in the morning without thier help.
The Mueller investigation is not what it appears to be. Remember my post a few months' from now...
The source Mueller has is not about getting Trump. It's about getting to the very core of the Trump campaign spy operation and who was in charge. And I think we might be surprised who gets implicated in this. It was all made up. Every bit of the 'Russia collusion' story was a spy op to get into the Trump campaign via FISA and other means. Create fake Russia connections and then get a court to approve your 'spying' on them. It is so clear to me, and has been for months, that Mueller could not come to a different conclusion about 'Russia' than 2 committees (House Intel and Senate Intel) and an IG investigation. They are all looking at the same thing: the dossier and the FISA warrant that came out of it. This is 100% about unmasking, the spy operation, and who was involved. We've already heard that the IG's report will be 'devastating' for the FBI. IG can only investigate internal matters. Mueller can take it outside of the FBI...and Huber is the prosecutor. The Dem attorneys working for Mueller were given rabbit trails to follow. These have only resulted in things like Manafort case (not bad for Trump) and George P. lying. Flynn case about to get thrown out. Come back to me in a few months and thank me for preparing you for the truth. ;-) Don't forget this little nugget of truth that has faded into the background.

Remember that even Donna Brazile suspected the truth on that one, and grew afraid.
The longer this saga drags out, the longer the list of casualties grows - and none of them are named Trump. What are the 'What if's", the alternative pictures that fit the facts? What if Trump has been exercising his executive authority from Day One? Before too much longer people might start wondering if Trump, Sessions, and Mueller have done a wonderful job of cleaning the Augean stables, running a terrific con on the scorched earth community of Democrats and Never-Trumpers. Took slightly longer than a day, though. Wouldn't that be really sumthin'.
Maybe, just maybe, the goddess worship is linked to the one true God running out of patience with all of mankind and he's giving fair warning..
