We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Highly doubtful that anything will happen.
1. The author is writing in the style of a conspiracy theorist. A whole lot of suppositionals from a paucity of actual actions. Compare and contrast Deputy Dawg Sleepy Sessions' record of non-accomplishments and DOJ and FBI ferocious stonewalling of Congress, with Trump's (love him or hate him) record of getting stuff done and trying a bunch more stuff that every libbie Judge in the country is desperate to squelch (e.g. Trump didn't explain his executive actions sufficiently to please me, so I must put a nationwide injunction on said action).
2. Long-time Senators especially are notoriously bad at being executives. They're preening narcissists. The Senate trains you to go along by getting along, where your political opponents are your friends and the American people are the enemy. I reckon sleepy Jeff just doesn't have the guts or the desire to go after his friends. It's much more fun to throw banksters in jail and do civil asset forfeitures on every American that causes trouble for the government.
I will be pleased to be proven wrong. But I consider that a black swan. My actions now are more along the lines of preparing for when everyone realizes nothing will ever happen. It's an exclusive club these Deep Staters, and they do as they please. Especially when they realize that nothing will happen.
Really, when you think about it, Comey got fired for one reason. He's an incompetent liar.
Clapper and Brennan and Rice and the rest of the Usurper's Made Men and Women could lie to Congress all day long and every day, the most obvious lies, and the Congress and the press would just swoon, roll over, expose themselves and coo "Ooh, I so love it when you talk falsely to me. Do it again!"
What part of Sessions' 4D chess would have him keeping these maneuvers from Trump? Or would have Trump continually berating and belittling Sessions?
Why would Sessions keep any of these maneuvers on the QT? To lull the guilty parties into a trap? As if the lot of them weren't already lawyered up the wazoo, and expecting and planning for a shoe to drop?
Better to apply Occam's razor. If Sessions appears to be inept, slow, wearing blinders, etc., it is most likely because he is.
