We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

People often joke about how Astaire was pretty good, but Rogers had to do the same thing backwards and in heels. Maybe it's that I'm a confirmed hetero femme, but for me there's no comparison: all my pleasure is in watching a good male dancer. Even when the style is quite fey, as in some ballet or jazz, it's so gratifying to see the contrast between that sinuous grace and all the angular strength and discipline, even the military subordination of individuality to a precise synchronization between two dancers. It all makes this woman's heart go pitter-patter.
