Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

As long as people are stupid enough to keep talking to Mueller's fishing expedition, they will find contradictions and bring cases for "obstruction of justice" even though there is no underlying crime.
Stop talking and they're dead in the water. Their real problem with Trump is that he's results-oriented - and they aren't. They can't be.
Your typical pol who works their way up through the ranks to high office knows that it's far more important to figure out the promises you need to make in order to get elected (and re-elected) than actually DO anything to 'fix' the problem you're making promises on. Messaging is everything, and a solved problem is USELESS when running for re-election. But Trump comes from an environment where you're judged by results. You HAVE to deliver to be successful, and Trump's very successful. So now he's tackling issues that have been used as election fodder for literally decades, and dealing with them. Tax reform? Done. Health care? Done, kinda - the professional political class punted on that one. Immigration reform? There's a plan, and the Dems will do everything they can to block it. Not because it's a bad plan - but because it's something that actually deals with the issue instead of vaguely promising that some day they'll get around to doing something... just keep those votes coming in! Infrastructure reform? I'm thinking we're going to see something that we've been needing for decades, but our professional elite political class have been ignoring because (a) they didn't have any idea how to actually do it, and (b) again, it's easier to promise to fix something than actually doing it. What we're seeing is the difference between a businessman and a politician. To be successful in business you have to deliver results. To be a successful politician, you need people to accept promises instead of results. They hate Trump because he's showing just how ineffective they actually are. And who likes it when someone shows everyone paying attention just how BAD you are at what you're supposed to be doing? Actually, I think it was a GREAT idea to pose a Kennedy speaking for the Democrats in front of a (broken) car in a place called Fall River. I hope they do so regularly. Mere Citizens need to know, because they sure aren't being taught in this country's "education" system.
Democrats' hatred of Trump will NOT "bring them down" if the Koch-sucking Rove Republican swill can help it. The only way to "close the racial achievement gap" is to admit that third-world and fourth-world culture is foul, and drive it out of the schools. If you want to know the demographics of a public school, look at its "grade". Or if you want to know the "grade" of a public school, look at its demographics. Schools grading below "B" are almost always majority minority. Either minority with significant melanin. And with the curricula in the schools these days, it ain't a genetics issue. When a sufficient percentage of "students" act like animals, the learning results are guaranteed. People cannot choose their skin color. But they damn sure can choose their culture. And in spite of the bullshiite spouted by Our Betters, All Cultures are NOT Equal. "Ask not what your country can drool for you...Ask what you can drool for your country" (I laughed out loud when I read that).
Having grown up in the land of the Kennedys, and having been old enough to understand the disgrace of Chappaquiddick, it has always been a miracle to me that Teddy had any kind of political career at all - much less, fame. Just goes to show you the power of belonging to the entitled class, the doors open even for the fatally flawed. And now we see that famous jawline rising again. After all these years, the Democrats have stooped to relying on that ol' Black Magic: Brand recognition. He has Teddy's forelock and his shifty eyes, too. Reviewing their behavior code during the address and the content of their subsequent rebuttals, it is clear: The Democratic Party is truly bereft of ideas. What a shame, and what a disservice to our Republic. We need competing ideas to have constructive debates, and to forge progress for our society. "The extraordinary nihilism of Republican attacks on the Russia investigation"
How ironic. We know now that there was no Russian collusion between Trump and the Russians. We also know that the investigation was and is a criminal treasonous palace coup by the Democrats implicating President Obama and almost everyone on his cabinet. What the Democrats are doing is attempting to create enough diversion to keep the Obama criminals from ever facing justice. The media, including the useful idiot who wrote this article, are working overtime to assist the criminal Obama Democrats. Talk about Nihilism. Another breathless NYT article about a non-crime committed by the president and his administration (and advisors). Yawn. I do agree though that if they lied in their answer to the press it was a mistake. Should have just ignored them or come clean. But that's easy for me to say, I'm not the one being pursued by the Mueller witch hunt.
DiBlasio's a Dem, so he's on the side of the Teachers' Union. NOT on the kids' side.
If the photo of Obama and Farrakhan had been published, the Dems still would have hushed it up. Orrrrrrrrrrr, Hillary would have run, and likely won. Joe Kennedy? How many people know of Teddy driving off the bridge and Mary Jo trapped in the car? WaPoo changed the Hed? Of COURSE they did. They're Dem minions. ref: NY schools
From the schools article "Overall, kids from higher-income families do far better on standardized tests (state exams, SATs, etc.) than those from lower-income ones." Should that surprise anyone? Parents who are smart and ambitious have more of a chance to move away from those hellholes, and they take their kids with them. So SOME of the brightest kids, kids who've been raised with a strong work ethic wind up going (via self selection) to the better schools in better, safer, neighborhoods. OF COURSE that changes the averages. The problem is that not all the high potential kids get that opportunity. And for them, we desperately need to provide safe, intellectually stimulating schools, even if it means 'skimming' as the public school freaks love to call it. Amusing to think that had the press done its job, Obama wouldn't have been President when the truth is that the press did do its job and that's why Obama became President. Just understand that the myth of the impartial press speaking truth to power is a myth concocted by the press itself - they've always been a powerful partisan force.
Actually, Obama won because McCain intentionally threw the election. That was the plan when McCain railroaded himself into the nomination with no support from the GOP rank and file, and then stopped campaigning in September.
And don't forget Palin. SHE was a hell of a big draw for him - so she got sidelined hard. If he HAD won, she would have been hated in DC because she wasn't one of 'them'.
But he managed to lose gracefully, and that was the important thing. To be fair, perhaps 10% of people under 45 know about the Chappaquiddick incident. Maybe it goes up to 25% in the New England area. While I agree that the optics are comically bad, Chappaquiddick is an old person's issue.
"Chappaquiddick is an old person's issue."
I think you mean; Chappaquiddick is an informed person's issue. Ted killed the young lady in a moment of panic. Not panic that he might drown but panic that he might be found out to be having an affair with a young aide. His actions were not intended in anyway to help or possibly save the young lady but in fact to find someway to cover up what happened so that he could save his political future. What makes this relevant is that the Democrats continued to embrace Ted and help in the ongoing coverup and that the media too contributed to making this act unknown to younger people. That isn't accidental in the same way that young people might not know how to operate an old wringer washing machine. That was orchestrated by Democrats, for Democrats and was a terrible legacy of the Democrats, one they continued under Bill Clinton and others. It should be known by young people because the Democrats still stand united when one of theirs commits a crime and gets people killed. Ted Kennedy died before most of Gen Z hit puberty. The Chappaquiddick incident is pure evil, no doubt, but to young people, it's about as salient as the Tea Pot Dome scandal.
" I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea to pose a Kennedy in front of a (broken) car in a place called Fall River?"
-------------------------------------------------------------- It's symbolic of what the Democrats have done to every place they have ruled. Massachusetts being full of dead mill towns where the employers went out of business or fled to the South where states were more hospitable to business. I am unclear why this site continually falls for and pushes stories by the thoroughly discredited NYT. Please stop already. The Hope Hicks story is just junk. Like all the other junk they've thrown out over the last year that turned into nothing.
This is just another attempt to hijack the bad news about to come out with regard to the memo. Nunes already implied that this memo will show the whole Russia investigation was started with a sham - faked evidence that was present to FISA court and then continually renewed warrants based on same faked evidence. Have you not figured out yet the whole 'Russia' story is junk? So any 'news' you hear about Trump Tower and anyone involved with the campaign is automatically junk as well. Sigh. Many of us keep hoping The Gang of Z will chime in and make fools of themselves hatin' on Trump.
re racial achievement gap.
The gap is genetic. Changing schools won't help. Segregation of schools, neighborhoods and jobs would help. Full Hollywood treatment coming the Kennedy’s way this summer, “Chappaquiddick” directed by John Curran.
And it ain’t the glossy, french-kiss, “Jack-we-hardly-knew-ya”, "American royalty” bullshit, either. More like, a crash course in American political corruption and the power of the Kennedy name in covering up a slimy coward U.S. Senator who sacrificed a woman's life and covered up his treachery for his own political future. Odd how it took this damn long for the Kennedy name to mean absolutely less than nothing in the halls of power, otherwise this film starring Kate Mara, Bruce Dern, Jim Gaffigan, would have never got off the page. But Ginger Kennedy with the lip gloss issues, who gave the Democrat response the other night, does have one rather odd distinction: he’s the only sitting Congressman I know of who’s mother ruined his famous Dad's political career. Seems Dad, Joe Kennedy, (RFK’s oldest) fell in lust with his chief of staff down in D.C and wanted a divorce from wife #1. Only problem? He pushed it, and also wanted the Catholic Church to annul his 13 year old marriage (with two kids). Gotta’ have an annulment in the church to re-marry again and receive the sacraments. And no “self respecting” Kennedy could hang around the Irish Catholic precincts in Boston and Hyannis Port and be “married” outside the church. Only problem? Wife #1 didn’t care for the power move forced on her to accept that the thirteen years with that asshole in holy matrimony never happened. She wrote a book. Outed another Kennedy for the scumbag he was. His bid that year for Massachusetts Governor? Blew up in his face. He ended up out of the family business and selling Hugo Chavez discount oil to his fellow Massholes. What was that line somebody had on cable about the new young Kennedy and his role in being the moral voice of The Democrat Party? Had ´News´ Media Done Its Job, Obama Would Not Have Become President
That picture is trivial. No one cared about Farakhan, and the picture was just guys in the same room. Obama-haters would have been triggered, everyone else would have shrugged "so what." The only votes that change if this picture had been released are from 7 various guys who are owed money by Farakhan. The real story is that this story just got released. Why? Because it's a "reminder" that the US is one big raciss state that hates Obama. Someone feels that it's time to get that zeitgeist back. Right before investigations are starting. All of these "conservative" outlets w/ their outrage over this photo are either getting played or are part of the psyops. |
